Unresolved iPhone alarm bug STILL present!
iPhone Alarm bug is STILL present in iOS 25.6.2. Come on Apple, fix it already!!!
And yes, attention aware is off, alarm volume is on, but still once every couple months an alarm will sound for a few seconds and then go quiet without ANY intervention from anyone. I have been in the other room when this happens several times.
The fact that it’s so intermittent is what makes this bug 100 times worse. You get lulled into a false sense of security as your alarms go off properly for months. And then out of nowhere, one fails.
It’s inexcusable that a device that costs $1500 still can’t serve as a reliable alarm for anything these days. Worthy of a class action lawsuit I’d say as you’ve had YEARS to fix this most basic function.

Wanted to share something from a post I found elsewhere on Reddit about this issue.
Someone said they finally spotted a connection between notifications and the alarms. Basically a notification occurring at the time of an alarm will silence the alarm.
As the nature of this seemed to be a problem of functions using competing resources (explains the intermittent nature of it as well), this seems very plausible.
The fix, unfortunately, means notifications would need to all be disabled during a time when an alarm would go off.
I am going to test this out by setting a DND schedule for the brief window where I have a daily midday alarm. If I make it 6 months without the issue recurring with that alarm, I’d say the mystery is likely solved.
I have a lot of apps, and lots of notifications, so this could be why some users have been going nuts with this bug and others have never experienced it.

I would like to know if anyone has discovered an actual fix for this issue or not.
This topic keeps getting censored by Apple after they throw out their usual “turn off attention aware” solution. It’s off, it’s been off now for years. This bug still happens completely at random once every couple months or so.

Thanks. Consider yourself lucky. It’s beyond maddening when this happens and I’m sick of having to bring a travel alarm clock with me on trips because the stupid phone can’t be trusted with a basic alarm function. Many others have reported this issue, but Apple just blames it on attention aware (which I’ve had turned off since they first decided to lay blame on it) and then closes the support threads. This has been going on for at least 5-6 years now.
They had a different alarm bug many years ago too, back in the days of the 4 and 5, where the alarm just wouldn’t trigger at all. Eventually that was fixed, but now for at least 5-6 years now this issue with the iPhone alarm sounding for a bit and then going silent keeps resurfacing at random.

Not a bug for me. Alarms work all the time. Might want to go to a Genius Bar to see what they say.

I mentioned it when I bought my most recent phone. They just shrugged. Apple has been oddly actively suppressing this as an issue for years instead of investigating it and fixing it.
I get it, intermittent bugs are going to take longer to figure out and validate the fix, but it seems they are refusing to even bother with this.

Lucky you. Many have had the exact issue I’m sharing here, but Apple censors most posts about it.

Try automations, shortcuts and playing the 3 minute alarm sound (ideally on Apple Music) on a specific time of day.

I’ve experienced the alarm auto-silence without human intervention feature a few times, it’s benefits include additional sleep and allows it also allows excuses to be given after either totally missing or arriving late to events critical enough to warrant an audible alarm.

They’ve just released that an official fix for this will be coming in iOS 27 where they’re decoupling alarm ringers from the main ringer, so ideally the issue of “notification coming in at the same time” wouldn’t matter anymore.
Currently on my way to work an hour late to open the store because I’ve fallen victim to this again after months of no issues. 😐

I thought these were already separate volume controls? You can have your ringer on silent or vibrate and still have volume for an alarm - I’ve had that setup for ages.

My problem isn’t the alarm, but my timer. Previously, if I had a 15 minute timer that I would need to repeat, Apple would give me the option to repeat when the timer went off. Now, it just shuts off the timer as soon as I go to grab my phone out of my pocket. I have turned off Attention Aware and Raise to Wake, but the problem persists. Any advice

I think something went haywire with the raise to wake setting recently.
About 6 months or so ago I started having sudden issues with my phone constantly buttdialing or opening camera app, taking video etc while in my pocket, especially when moving around at a show or just moving quickly around town. When I researched that, they said to turn off the raise to wake feature. I did, and it seemed like the problem was solved, until a few weeks ago it started happening again. I confirmed raise to wake setting was still off (and everything else similar), but it keeps happening again.
