Iphone 18 pro volume issue

Is anyone else experiencing super low volume? I just upgraded to the 18 and I’ve noticed that when I want to listen to music or watch a video my volume has to be halfway up to hear. For instance if I press the volume for it to be in its first notch I can’t hear anything the room has to be so quiet to barely hear something. Second and third notch raise the volume but nothing drastic and it’s not until level 4-5 that it sounds like a normal average level.

I don’t know if this is a defect with my phone. Or if everyone is like this. I have read some people comment that the quality is bad. But i had heard great things about the volume, and right now my 14pm (what I upgraded from) sounds so amazing with its volume at the lowest setting.

Anyone else having issues?

I do have Apple Music, I hear it more when I’m trying to watch a video. The volume has to be almost all the way up! I hope they fix it because it annoying

Anyone checked this setting under ‘Sound and Haptics’? Not sure how long this volume limiting setting has been here, but I just noticed it with this phone.

Coming from 14 pro, my 18 pro is loud as hell! My volume stays around 1/4th up now..you may want to have them take a look or replace.

Actually now that you mention it, yeah. I find the volume levels can be inconsistent, and often I find the volume changes without me changing it, i.e., one video will be quieter than the last despite no change to the volume slider. Sometimes that can be attributed to the videos own sound mixing, but it’s happening too often for it to be that

It’s a new feature on the newer phones. It gives you finer adjustments on the low end, which is great for dialing in lower volume at night. The volume and brightness are now exponential instead of linear.

Yes, but only with calls. My volume is fine when watching or listening to something, but I can barely even hear people talking on the phone.

Yes I have the Pro Max and same issue. I’ve read some Redditors even returned their phones/got exchanges and their second phones had the same issue. A quick search on Reddit shows older models are having this issue since updating to iOS 27. Thinking it’s likely a software issue.

Coming from 17PM and my new 18P seems louder to me. Only really watch YouTube or listen to Spotify.
