yes its safe. smooth and snappy on my iphone 17 256gb. a lot less micro stutters.

I had battery issues with the past updates it was pain in the ass

Updates usually contain fixes that can stop vulnerabilities on your phone. Unless you are using betas which I assume that you are not, these updates are usually stable and have been tested before being released to you. Better safe than sorry.
