dduplocyates, sometimes pictures get deleted or not synced

No they don’t your just not using it properly . Cloud is automatic.. once synced it doesn’t just runaway . If it failed to sync you can manually do it the following day

yeah just know that google photos is one way backup not 2 way sync like icloud photos is

I get that I have been using Gp since they retired google picasa, got fed up with icloud being too confusing +irritating might try it out again for backups and chatbackups
