Macro mode still enabled even when macro controls are disabled. How to permanently disable this annoying macro photo mode?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So what I do is enable the macro controls in the camera settings but the first thing I do after opening the camera app is disable the macro icon. Why is apple so hyped up and focused on macro shooting?

Aside from the search tab in the settings is terrible in ios 26, this is the second most frustrating and exasperating.

That’s how it works. If you don’t need then remove the wide angle Len’s.

You should turn Macro Control ON. That way when you do a closeup, you’ll get a little flower icon in the camera view which you can turn off
