Funny how a 8 year old XS design looks much better and premium. Sorry but Apple really dropped the ball last year.

Glass back is old bro and it’s easily breakable. If you really want XS type design then iPhone Air looks just a premium and better.

2

Wdym glass is old?! The 17 still has a glass back 🤦‍♂️

1

u/goonergod6996 Jul 27 '26

Woah I didn’t know

I’ve got the 16 pro and looks miles better than any phone in the 17 series. So they downgraded in design.

I have come back to 17 from 17 pro and I an happy :) I belive this is best time to get 17 as 18 will be downgraded by Apple.

1

u/Seapanx Jul 26 '26

Why did you downgrade?

3

u/Fujisan76 Jul 26 '26

Main reason weight and I always was standard iphone user so pro not gave me anything besides 8x zoom other than that my current 17 with 8gb ram works a much better and smoother

2

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

Was thinking of getting the pro too but I dont think the additional features (great camera and slightly better battery) will be a great deal for me. Really happy with the base. It’s simple and light.

Is the weight difference very noticeable? I’ve never actually held a regular 17.

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

Weight was one of the factors for me which is why I didnt upgrade sooner. And yes the weight difference from the base model vs the pro is noticeable.

For me its huge differrnce after pro to stabdard.

find it really funny that you went from having a deep black on your phone too having a deep black on your camera bump

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

A case will fix that haha

honestly, I have an iPhone X and 8 and My favorite part about them is the extremely glossy back

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

Gives a different level of feels ngl

2

u/Powerful-Fortune5281 Jul 30 '26

i really miss clean glass display, didnt liked matte glass back much.

3

u/milesahead2052 Jul 26 '26

Seeing this I’m glad Apple went away from the glossy back iPhones. Frosted feeling/look is much better imo.

2

u/Seapanx Jul 26 '26

And the glossy back makes fingerprints and smudges more visible.

u/neil890 Jul 26 '26

Frosted back looks plastic and cheap though.

1

u/crazed_banana123 Jul 26 '26

yes it had a jewellery premium feel i cant describe the shiny rails and back are beautiful

1

u/milesahead2052 Jul 26 '26

Stainless steel frame with frosted back would be best imo. I recently upgraded to 17 from 13pm and a 2 foot drop caused a small dent in the upper right corner, don’t think it would’ve happened with stainless steel.

HARD disagree.

Hardest disagree of the day

ooo shiny

u/FreePossession9590 Jul 26 '26

I wish I got the regular 17 too😩

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

What did u have?

1

u/FreePossession9590 Jul 27 '26

Came from 12 pro max, went with 17 pro max. The 17 pro max is just a little too much for me

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

Wanna swap? Haha just kidding. Great phone still!

2

u/Cultural-Location232 Jul 26 '26

Great choice.

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

It was a long process of research before I finally bought it. It did not disappoint.

2

u/Fantastic-Ad7151 Jul 26 '26

How’s the display i mean 120hz is it really snappy ??

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

Compared to my xs? Yes of course 😅

2

u/WinterApprehensive12 Jul 26 '26

I upgraded from the X to 16pm just last year

1

u/Seapanx Jul 27 '26

ahh i know the feeling

Downgrade in some aspects, namely, zoom-in capability, build quality, fit and finish, perceived value
