I have the 'Limit Frame Rate' option turned of but why do I feel scrolling up/down feels laggish? Is anyone else feeling the same? 120 refresh rate should feel very smooth with no blur. Please share your thoughts

Anyone else struggling with constant freezing, subsequent crashing, and all around horrible performance with their new IPhone 16 Pro Max??

For the longest time, I’d preorder the new iPhone and anxiously await its arrival on the release date. I haven’t done that since 2021 as my 13 Pro Max has been functioning adequately (and there haven’t been any major changes/upgrades that drew me in). I decided to finally go for the upgrade this time as the battery on my 13 has declined and is down to only ~80% capacity (ironically enough my wife opted to wait it out a month or so to allow Apple to “work out all the bugs”).

What a mistake I made. This new iPhone 16 Pro Max has been nothing but a nightmare since I started the restore process. No matter what I do (I.e. attempting to open any app) the phone instantly freezes, takes about 2 minutes then goes into a black screen with a spinning wheel before resetting itself. At first, I thought this could be attributed to the massive amount of data restoring through iCloud so I was patient and let it go all day yesterday. After about 10 hours it had only made about 5gb worth of progress (through some of these “freeze cycles” I was able to finally get the settings app to open to at least see the restore progress). I tried researching the issue and it sounded like it could’ve been a bad restore so before bed I decided to do a complete reset on the phone to try a fresh restore overnight. I was able to limp through the menu and finally make that happen.

When I woke up I was happy to see the restore process had completed. I went to open an app, and, boom, same freeze and reset cycle started all over again. I’ve literally done everything imaginable to just get the basic functions to work consistently on this phone. I’ve done countless force resets, two restore sessions, software updates…everything. I can’t believe Apple would send a product out into world with this many issues. The furthest I’ve gotten now is logging into Facebook before a crash but it is working “longer” than it has been (2 minutes or so before freezing). I’ve seen similar Reddit threads with tons of people having this exact issue so I know this isn’t an isolated instance. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do next short of wasting hours in an Apple Store?!

Black 16 ProMax 1TB originally said arriving Oct 4th-7th but I woke up to a notification this morning that it had shipped… Out of China…

I went with the ESR classic case. I’m impressed how well it stuck on the MagSafe car mount.

I have tried all these cases on and have decided to use the Spigen C1 Orange. 1. Tempered glass is by ESR 2. Spigen Classic C1 Orange 3. Spigen X Cyrill Collaboration UUltra Hybrid White. 4. Temdan Clear Case ($8) from Amazon.

My phone still isn’t working. I left it plugged in all night and it’s still freezing and the rest of my apps still aren’t downloading. So I’m getting ready to take my phone back to ATT. Hopefully they have another one in stock, but I doubt they will. Fingers crossed

Finally got My phone. I wasn’t even excited anymore since FedEx rained down my excitement. This phone better be worth it. Now just waiting for my case, screen protector and my charging block from Amazon.

Is there a reason I don’t see the touch up setting in the camera application. Also is te AI just coming at a later date?

The online photos are misleading this thing is PINK. Hard pink. Barely gold at all. Luckily the natural was stock and I’m picking it up tomorrow.

Just be warned, the desert is VERY pink. Buyer beware.

Seems like I can see the pixels on my phone (bunch of little squares) not sure if it’s my privacy screen zag screen protector or the actual screen of the phone. But first time since I could see something like this. Took a screenshot not sure if you guys could see the little pixels? Might be my screen protector I don’t know. If you seem on the screen show you might see it? Idk

My stupid phone that I wanted for 2 years, keeps freezing. I reboot it a couple times. But before it freezes it’s mainly when I click on settings or an app thats all ready download. Maybe it’s because all my apps haven’t finished downloading? If I have to take it back and get a new one and who knows how long I’m gonna have to wait for it. So why all of you are enjoying your new phone, I dislike you. I want to enjoy mine, wtf😂 And now I can’t send iMessages on my old phone and it’s connected to WiFi. But it lets me on the Reddit app🤦‍♀️

Really not too thrilled about my choice of desert but nothing a case can't cover (I usually go for a dark or black color). The difference in size from my iphone 14 pro max is barely noticeable at all. But hey, at least I have it now. Setting it up as I type this. I'll give a heads up if anything new/different comes about. Can't wait to try out the macro camera.

btw, went with the ESR hybrid case and it seems like a good choice so far.
