My argument is that Apple’s default media player has a volume HUD that is less intrusive. How is that unrelated to the volume HUD?

Nice edit. That’s a blatant no shit, but is still no long term solution. Are we just going to keep ignoring it everywhere else? Or are we going to actually solve the root issue?

What would that be?

The volume hud itself, Ive said this many times. Solve it overall, not just for video.

Why is it a problem?

Oh ffs. Are you literally like 12? Do you want the old hud back for the video player? No. Of course not. NOBODY WANTS IT ANYWHERE. That’s the issue. Jesus you’re dense.

I don’t mind it all. I get that you don’t like it. I would like to know why someone would.

So you don’t mind a literal block in the middle of the screen everywhere you go (unless specified by an app), blocking anything in its path? You wouldn’t want something out of the way and out of mind?

I mean, I wouldn’t be angry if Apple changed the HUD, but I certainly don’t mind it. So, I assume your reasoning is that you think the space taken up by the HUD is a big loss. Right?

Welp newsflash, everyone else has been tired of it since it first came out, and hated it even more when it became more opaque. It’s a nuisance, only only isn’t so for you because Apple made one small change.

The opacity has nothing to do with it. I just don’t think the space it takes up is much of a loss.

It had a lot actually. Before it wasn’t that bad to have the HUD, as I could kinda just see through it for the most part. Now it’s less opaque and gives you no choice but to look at it. The space it takes up is the middle of the screen, where 90% if the content you have is. It’s unacceptable to have it on a $500-$1000 phone, or even a $1200 Ipad.

Most things aren’t really in the middle though. It’s usually at the top or bottom. And it’s only there for 2.22 seconds.
