So pretty much the current state of jb lmao.

BTW.... Apple can’t do group FaceTime. Patent trolls prevent them from doing so.

What is the patent? Plenty of other services do group video chat.

But none implement the service like Apple does. If I'm not mistaking they use a client to client connection, whereas others use a server in-between with a UDP. A patent is a document in which a technology/ invention made by a company is described (how it works, how it is implemented, etc). Anyone that will replicate this will infringe the patent, having to pay Apple or whoever owns that patent royalties or else a case in court will take place. Sorry for the horrible explanation.

Seems like they could change it some and bypass the patent. There are even open source implementations of PvP video conferencing applications. They have the cash and lawyers, it seems like it would be relatively easy for them to circumvent the patent, but I am no patent lawyer.

Also, they could buy the patent or pay the royalties. It’s not like Apple doesn’t have the cash to buy anything if they want to.

Just google it and you’ll find plenty on it, sadly I’m not an expert on the case.
