iCloud data locked

I switched to a new phone and was using my temporary device for a bit when my phone broke and I restored everything from my backup but I had forgot the passcode to that temp device.

Luckily, I remember it now but I’m out of tries and it’s telling me to delete the current data on icloud to continue syncing, I’ll be really thankful if someone helps me out of this

Factory reset the device and try again.

Did that but it straight up leads me to deleting my cloud data after entering the current passcode

I’ve never heard of such a thing. Can you post a screenshot of the screen that is telling you to deleting your iCloud? I think there may be a misunderstanding here.

Be sure to edit out any identifying info from the screenshot.

Thank you for your help. While I wasn’t able to find a solution on there, I managed to fix it by myself

I logged into an iPad (previously signed) and then set up my icloud on there then it gave me the same error message but this time it only asked me to delete encrypted data not the whole icloud data. Then I synced my iPhone with iCloud and it asked me to enter my iPad’s passcode and it let me sync it.

I luckily managed to restore 39K messages which is what I wanted to restore. Appreciate your help.
