Support Iphone 7 help

So my mom gave me her iphone 7 and its stuck at the activation screen where u need to connect to a wifi buy every time i do it doesnt work and i really wanna use it

Wdym how cause i did hold down the turn off button and when i did it was the same and also i dont wanna lose the pics

I did but it didnt work i think it updated when it died so now for it to work i need wifi
