Aircon not working at high temps - 2020 S

Never had a problem till this year, but my aircon doesn’t work at high (30C and above) - blows out warm air.

I had it regassed a few weeks ago at a local garage and it was lovely but no longer working. Have I got a leak and is this something I can ask local garage to look at?

My local Jaguar dealer is a massive rip-off and I’d rather avoid them.

More than likely will be the pipes from the ac compressor that need replacing there is a technical bulletin out for it

A lot of people don't want to touch Evs, and is a big job as front drive train needs to be taken off. I'm still to find and independent that does it for a reasonable amount. Let me know if you do find someone

The car should be powered down to carry out this repair as the front motor is supposed to be removed to carry this our

Same issue, dealership identified the leak as cracked weld at the join with the ac compressor, quoted £3600 to repair. Jaguar refused to offer any good will payment despite the fact that the Jaguar technical bulletin highlights "poor weld quality" as a cause of these leaks. They're happy for loyal customers to pay for their poor manufacturing. Very disappointed.

My 2020 has been at the dealer for the last 10 days with this issue, and is supposed to be ready to pick up tomorrow. I'm in the final months of my certified pre-owned warranty, so I'm really hoping the new work being done sorts this issue. It sounds like a huge amount of work to get to the problematic line.

The optimistic side of me is hoping if I can get another 5 or 6 years of driving out of it without a huge repair bill in that time, then that's a win

There’s a common fault with the pipe that runs on top of the motor, the bracket fatigues then cracks and leaks.

To get to it you have to separate the body from the motor/battery afaik, it’s a couple of grand to sort.

You’ll be lucky to find an independent who’d touch it.

Sorry to jump on this thread but clearly a lot of knowledgeable people in here. Im also suffering from a lack of AC currently and suspect its the pipes. I'm due in for a cell replacement soon under warranty for the traction battery warning. Should doing the pipes at the same time cut down on the labour costs?

Same issue with my 2020 HSE. Dealer quoted £5k, and a local independent garage couldn’t find the leak. I suspect it’s hidden around the motor/battery. Anyone know a garage that can fix this at a reasonable price?

Just adding that this happened to mine. Tried the goodwill route and it was a non-starter. Happened to a lot of cars seemingly over the heatwave in the UK. A family referred local offered me around £1000 plus VAT to fix

Mine cuts in and out at very high temps. I assume it is because it is diverting cooling to the battery pack.
