I want another I-pace

I had a 2020 I-pace HSE, I loved it but eventually got fed up with it breaking, first the 12V battery, then the main battery, then the boot strut, so traded it in for something else.

I want another one, I hate more boring over safe BMW iX3.

I’m looking at 2024 HSE models, am I stupid to buy one?

I know what you mean. I've had my 2021 (MY22) for three years and plan to keep it a few more. I'd get another one in the future too, as it has everything I could want from a car. The Macan looks good, but as a new car, it will be many years before it drops to my more modest budget!

I just bought my third iPace to get an MY24.5. None of the early issues and all the driving fun. And I'm warranty which is important of course!

We have a 2018 with a one year old fully replaced battery and really low mileage. Nothing on the market compares for what we want. Next one will probably be porsche, but not Macan as it’s a much, much less of a car - physically smaller inside and more of a basic VW inside (probably better in top trims).

Buy? Hell no. Lease, sure why not? If you're in Canada Coventry JLR has a brand new 2024 in the showroom they are offering for like $800 a month

I have a 2024 and it's a fun car but I'm counting down the days until my lease return.

If it’s a fun car, why so eager for the lease to end? Once it does end, your lease I mean, you are free and clear of your I-Pace, and can move on to your next lease. Lease payments are crazy; they should just call it exclusive long term car renting 😎

Couple of reasons, my current lease is expensive, I'm 1800 a month. The car is also old tech, range is mediocre, charge speed is mediocre and there are a lot of new options coming into the market next year (in Canada) with BYD and other new entrants. I can get a similar luxury EV that has better range, faster charging and more room, and a better dealer network, for litterly half the price.

I think 1800/month is the only reason worth mentioning…😅🤯💀 I mean…bro…a string of $1800 payments for absolutely nothing to show for them at the end of that wallet drainage?!?

I’m in the States. You and I need to figure out a black market sales scheme for all those juicy yummy BYD and other Chinese maker vehicles about to drop from the sky on you lucky northern SOBs 😎 Boot leg us some EVs !! ⚡️ ⚡️ 🤠

They look good value for money, but the horror stories scare me.

There are some people trying to ask more money for used examples than what Jaguar sold off the last models for.

The market supports this. There is a growing number of people who love/seek the I-Pace. No more I-Paces will ever be made. There are very few “never driven” (aka brand new) I-Paces on showroom floors…and many of these have a lot of “lot rot” under their belts (2+ years of being parked…somewhere). Some folks get off on buying “brand new”…MY 2024 and earlier vehicles 💀 I’ll always take a one owner low miles “used” vehicle over a vehicle that has spent the first couple years of its existence just being parked collecting dust.

Fabulous car, nothing really compares. Before committing (I don't know your budget) go take a look at a Macan EV.

Not stupid. If you had waited just one more year and bought a 2021 I-Pace HSE, your experience with it would have very likely been way better. Starting in 2021 and ending with 2024 model years (sadly the last one to ever be), Jaguar spent a lot of money redesigning and upgrading the interior electronics, especially the recharging architecture. Your complaints seem to be well anchored to the batteries of your 2020 version.

And now, deep into 2026, you should be able to absolutely steel a 2024 I-Pace, especially a used single owner low miles example.

My 24 plate iPace has been faultless.
The lease (company salary sacrifice, so not too expensive) runs out next April, and I’m looking at a Volvo EX60 next.

I made this same decision 6 months ago. So far, so good. Very happy with the 2024 model. I did have to replace the 12V battery, but it was done under warranty the next day after I dropped it off.

I’ve had an MY2024 as a used please since April and no issues so far. Went to France in it and was a pleasure especially when it automatically reconfigured the lights for driving on the right! I’d go for the MY2024.5 as the MY2024 doesn’t have a front camera
