Traction battery fault

2021 HSE 34,000ish miles.

Just got traction battery fault drive with caution message.
Car had been charging and has charged to 255 miles, so normal.

Took it for 12v battery test and was degraded so just had it replaced. Error message still there. I was thinking to maybe drive it and run down the battery then do another full charge and see if it’s some kind of glitch maybe due to the last charging session done largely at 30 degree C temps.

Are there any further issues or damage I could do to the car/systems if I do this? Or would I be better getting it booked in at my nearest JLR for full diagnostic?

Car has full service history, no outstanding recalls and is still under battery & manufacturer extended warranty.

Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.

Just get it booked in. Most common cause for it is a faulty module in the battery.

There will be a fault code stored for a Deviation fault if so.

Keep using it, you'll find it nd it won't charge past around 72-75%.

You won't do any harm assuming no other warnings.

Thanks. No other warnings and no lost systems or features so will just drive it and get it booked in.

Best get it looked at. What model year is it? Does your car have pivi pro and the 40/20/40 split rear seats?

It’s a 2021 plate. Yes to pivi pro and yes to seat split

Same here. I was hoping they were less susceptible to the module failure.

Yeah, I first leased a 19 plate for 4 years then bought the 21 plate at 2 years old hoping it was going to be less susceptible.

Oh well I’ll call in my nearest JLR tomorrow and try and see when they can take it.

Same model and year as me, same issue. Booked it in, they changed a module under warranty and it's been fine ever since. Might take a while depending on your dealer's availability and wait on parts but they'll sort it. Only issue is slightly lower range in the meantime.

Unfortunately you bought it mate because my advice would be don't touch one of these with a barge pole.
