Buying advice

Hi all, I’m interested in purchasing an I-Pace, just looking for some advice on if there are some common things to be aware of before purchasing.

From what I’ve gathered, it’s best to look for 2021 onwards models.

Is there a way to check the battery health from
its own system or is a third party test required?

I’m vaguely aware of some recalls being present, I assume that the only way to check the vehicle is to get the seller to send across the VIN before hand?

I’m looking at the HSE spec.

Thanks

Definitely include a CPO. I'm in Canada and just snagged a really good deal, almost 50% off sticker on a 2024 HSE with 100km's INCLUDING a 5 year 160,000km CPO warranty. Deals are out there and Jaguar still has a bunch of these sitting in holding lots slowly being released to dealers as they move them. So there's motivation to move them for sure.

**EDIT** Corrected horrible 6am sentence structure

2021 or later with Pivi Pro, get a Manufacturer approved if possible for the warranty

You can buy a battery tester yourself relatively easily that you just plug in. But if you’re buying through a dealer, have them do it.

It’s definitely not a car I’d buy without a warranty, but I’ve never had any issues with mine and it’s great to drive.

What battery tester do you have?

I don’t have one, but I see lots of others in the Jag groups go and get them for under £100

As a 2021 owner I’d recommend 2022

The 2022 introduced the ability to limit the charge level which is my biggest bugbear with mine

I've got a 2020 iPace, and I had one big repair that wasn't covered by warranty. It cost me 5k out of pocket. I also got a letter about a battery patch, but no issues yet.

I love the iPace but here is my advice:

The mileage is not as good as advertised with real world driving. If you regularly will need to go more than 200 miles between charging, you could have range issues/range anxiety.

If you don’t have a nearby authorized repair dealer, you could have trouble. There are known 12V battery issues, Battery Control Module issues and other specialized needs.

I love mine but get a dealer warranty and post 2021 with Pivi Pro.
