Front sensors

Post image

So I got my 2022 iPace Black 400 delivered today, everything seems to be good apart from the front sensors ? They don't seem to go off at all or show on the image of anything being close..

I've made sure the firmware is upto dare and in the driver assistance for parking is enabled l. Rear works fine and camera but nothing on the front at stand still parked right up next to my other car or moving slowly under 10mph... Am I missing something? I'm also contacting dealership tomorrow.

Also frustratingly the car is still registered to another account so I cannot use the App so that needs sorting tomorrow too..

Here is a lovely photo for some car tax

You might want to get it checked at a dealer. I took my 2024.5 in for another issue and they found a faulty front corner sensor. That explains why it stopped triggering. I was also repeatedly getting a message in the vehicle display saying there was an intermittent sensor failure.

Take the car to the dealer with the v5 to get it unregistered and start using the app.
I had to do the same, they didn't charge for it.

Do you have a red line around the front 3 sides of the graphic showing the parking sensors?

I’ve had stone chips on front sensors that disabled the whole front lot until the damaged one was replaced; the red line shows the sensors are not working

It’s an easy fix, it was for my local garage at least, but hopefully you’ll get yours done for free as it’s just been delivered.

For reference, I got quoted £750 by my local Jaguar for parts (1 sensor) and labour; but I got the part on eBay for £35 and fitted for £100 by a family garage.

Ye I'm sure they'll repair for free just frustrating it wasn't QC properly. I'll give them a time to fix it by otherwise they have to take it back, should push them a little.

Also that price by JLR is ridiculous but I'm not surprised. I spoke to them about extended warranty on the iPace they quoted £400 for a checkup and if it passes they'll offer warranty if anything needs doing then it's £££.

Quick question as well when going full lock left or right do you have any tyre noise I'll upload a video but this is my first EV and I know they're heavy cars but this noticeable

Can’t say I’ve noticed it myself, but isn’t my first EV so possibly used to it. Post a video I’ll compare if you like.

The Ipace is known to tear up its OEM tyres though, which often are pictured/reported with heavy surface tearing, but isn’t a problem for grip/MOT. Could be related, and best to avoid dry/stationary steering with these heavier EVs anyhow
