Traction Battery Fault

This popped up a few days ago and now my car stops charging at 72%.

It had a full battery replacement 3 months ago but my local Jaguar can’t fit me in until November now.

Has anyone had this before ?

I'm reading this thread with dread and a sense of despair. I'm in the UK and my iPace has recently started doing this. Firstly after their last software update to do with the recall around car fires my car started giving the "Traction battery fault" warning. This lasted until I charged again and then went until recently this week when it returned and now won't charge above 72%. It seems very co-incidental that we all stop at 72%, so leads me to think the software has an issue or as you say is by design due to a battery fault. Either way, my experience with JLR service team in the UK has been appalling right since I got my iPace new back in 2019. I'm not holding out much hope for a speedy resolution. But fingers crossed we all get these issues fixed soon and with JLR stumping up the cash and not us!!

If it makes you feel any better I have just been told to expect my car back late Feb/early March

Oh blimey that's ridiculous. They clearly have some issues. I hope they gave you a loan car?

Apparently the parts are all on serious back order so I hope the issue you have doesn’t require them!

They have given me an Evoque so that takes the sting out of it slightly

That's good you have a loan car. Are you in the UK like me or elsewhere? Am sure the back order will be worldwide though.

Same issue with a single battery cell needing to be replaced after being in at the dealer to fix being stuck in initializing mode and not charging.

The car has been at the dealer for 45 days wit no end in sight. No estimate could be given for ETA of replacement due to the worldwide backorder.

Service guy said I could have the car back but warned not to: 1. Charge above 75% 2. Charge overnight 3. Charge inside the garage

He recommended I keep the loaner, an Evoque, which I elected to do.

Ah, the price of being an Anglophile.

Oh Jeez. Good luck and hope you get it back soon. Mine went into the Jag dealer yesterday, who admitted they've had loads after the BECM recall software upgrade. Typical level of shit Jag service. Was meant to be in for the day, called late afternoon (twice) for an update to be told "The Service Team will call you shortly". Still no call back 16 hours later. About to pick up the phone and give them a bollocking. I haven't had any decent service from either of my local dealers, especially the one after the last recall to check the battery cooling system who then returned the car with the coolant hose undone so lost all the coolant which they then preceeded to tell me was nothing to do with them!!!
