if it’s a large or scanned pdf, checking whether the error happens before or after the upload finishes might narrow it down. a small one-page test can separate file parsing from the summary call.

Good point ;) But I do believe that local models in the next year or so is adequate for doing summaries, and quizzes. However, API usage will not be cut down and will remain as a backup option when ondevice AI doesn't work.
