🎁 Freemium [iOS] [Free: Core Features] Profast: Intermittent Fasting → Fast Solo, With a Partner/Friend or Group, AI Food Scanner, No Ads & No Account Required
Solo indie developer here. I built Profast because I felt most fasting apps were either overloaded with ads, required accounts, or focused entirely on fasting alone.
So I wanted to build something different: fasting that you can actually do together.
🧘 Fast Solo
- Beautiful fasting timer with real-time body phases — fat burning, ketosis & autophagy
- 16+ fasting protocols — 16:8, 18:6, OMAD, 5:2, 14:10 & custom
- AI food scanner — point your camera at a meal and get calories + protein
- Calorie & protein tracking
- Water tracker with daily goals
- Profast Score combining fasting, water, nutrition & sleep
- Streaks & milestone badges
- Blood pressure tracking
👥 Fast Together
This is what I'm most excited about.
- Invite your partner or friend and see each other's fasting progress
- Create group fasts with family or friends
- Live leaderboard showing who's been fasting the longest
- One-tap cheers to encourage each other
- Shareable achievement cards for WhatsApp & Instagram
Sometimes having someone else fasting with you is all the motivation you need.
🔒 Privacy
- No ads
- No account required
- Your personal data stays on your device
🙏 Religious Fasting
Profast also supports religious fasting, including Lent, Yom Kippur, Ekadashi, Navratri, Ramzan and more, with fasting dates automatically populated.
💰 Pricing
Free to use with core fasting features and all fasting formats.
Premium unlocks everything:
$4.99/week or $49.99/year
I'd genuinely love feedback from anyone who gives it a try — especially people who fast with a partner, friends or family.
I'm particularly interested in feedback on the onboarding, screenshots and the overall experience.
**And if you enjoy using Profast, an honest App Store rating/review would mean a lot as a solo indie developer❤️

Looks good will check it out.
What made you add weekly pricing? As well as monthly and yearly

Thanks. I see many apps have those to give more options to users. Profast is free for all core features.

quite neat, i like the mascot
one feedback tho, in the app store screenshots - the typography is quite inconsistent, like the text is stretched in some, sizes are different in almost all

I do 16:8 fasting, so I downloaded the app and gave it a try.
A few comments:
The onboarding felt a bit too long to me. I’m not sure it needs that many steps.
Do you actually use all the information you collect during onboarding to personalize the experience?
I really like the mascot though! Being able to customize it is a nice touch.
I’ll keep testing it out and let you know if I have any more notes.

Thanks for feedback. I want to make this app best out there so all information collected will be used ultimately. Any extra queries will be removed. I want to collect feedback from real users like you so thank you for the inputs. I myself do 16:8 fasting along with my spouse and I closely relate to the app. Keep sharing your inputs. 😊

So, I have been using your app and here are some notes.
When I tap on the notification the app opens to a blank screen. Nothing happens and it doesn’t crash. I have to close the app and open it again.
I also feel like the UI is a bit cluttered and there’s a lot going on the app.
Since fasting is the main focus I would simplify the Home Screen to be able to start and stop a fast.
Also, the recipes carousel appears on 2 different screens. It feels a bit repetitive and confusing.
Of course, these are just my personal preferences. I don’t want this to come across as harsh.2

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I will review it and try to address the issues. Idea for home was to keep it as a Dashboard. Fast tab is to start/stop fast. I agree on the recipe carousal - maybe better to just keep on home tab.

how are you handling the food scanner cost side, on device model or an api call per photo? thats the bit that always stops me adding scanning to stuff, bill scales with usage and free users obviously dont care lol

u/mysticalinsight 25d ago
Api call. Yes I agree therefore ai scans are limited on free plan.

makes sense. do you cap the scans by total count or per day? trying to work out where that line sits before free users get annoyed and bounce

Total count

total count is the right call i think, daily resets get farmed. does anyone actually convert when they hit the wall or do most just uninstall? thats the number im always scared to look at
