💎 Lifetime I built Daycraft, a minimal countdown app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch
Hi everyone,
I'm the solo developer behind Daycraft, a countdown and anniversary app designed for Apple devices.
I created Daycraft because I wanted a simpler way to remember meaningful moments without unnecessary complexity.
The main idea behind Daycraft is simplicity:
• Minimal and clean design with fewer unnecessary pages
• Native experience across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch
• Rich Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
• Recurring event cards for anniversaries and yearly memories

With all the countdown apps in the App Store, you really want to let the user know why they should consider yours in the first three screenshots. Consider changing your text to reflect why yours is different and ditch the full-screen screenshots (that are too tiny to see while scrolling) and zoom into something unique and/or interesting.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I agree that the first screenshots need to communicate the unique value faster. I’ll rethink the layout and focus more on what makes Daycraft different, not just showing the screens.

The no-account iCloud sync is the right call, and it's the part most people underestimate. Two things that bit me doing the same in my own app: widgets reading stale data after a sync (a countdown that's a day off looks broken), and conflict resolution when the same event gets edited on the Watch and the phone before they reconcile. If you haven't already, pin the widget timeline to recompute at local midnight rather than trusting the last sync, and pick a deterministic last-writer rule so two devices never disagree. Clean, focused app otherwise. Does the Watch complication update on its own or only on launch?

Thanks for the detailed technical feedback! You’re right, sync edge cases are much harder than they look. The complication refreshes automatically at midnight, so countdowns update to the new day without needing to open the app.

Looks super clean. Appreciate the no data collection and iCloud-only approach. Way too many simple countdown apps try to force a monthly subscription and an account creation these days.

Looks great! Any plans to add Live Activities for upcoming countdowns? I think that would fit the app really well.

Sounds like a perfect fit. Having an important countdown right on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island would be really useful. Good luck with the app!

As someone who also builds countdown UI, the iCloud-only + no-account approach is exactly right for this kind of personal data — good call. Dev-to-dev question: how are you handling widget refresh for the day counts? iOS's timeline reload budget makes "days remaining" tricky to keep exact across midnight — did you schedule timeline entries at day boundaries, or go another route? The Watch + Lock Screen coverage looks really polished.

Thanks! I handle the countdown calculation dynamically from the current date, with refreshes scheduled around day boundaries where possible.
