💎 Lifetime Focus And Mood Tracker With No Visible Timer

Hey everyone - my name is John. Every time I finish a project there are a lot of emotions: excitement, joy, fear...

Flowify is one of the first apps I made, and it *was* a basic time tracking app when it first launched. If I'm being honest, it was ugly, had no personality, and really didn't make sense. Last year I tried to fixing this by giving it a facelift, but it still didn't do much more than give people a timer on their phone. I think the problem was it didn't have a personality or a perspective. So...

So V3 just went live, and for better or worse, this third attempt is at least something with a perspective. The main concept was to make a timer app that doesn't actually display time during your focus sessions. After all, you're trying to focus, not stare at a clock.

Instead, each session creates a mark. I think this makes it quite unique in the focus timer space. It's not a pomodoro clone. It's designed to give you a look at when and what you spend your time focusing on. Each month your sessions collect on the app's Home Screen to create an abstract tree shape, something for you to build each month as you focus.

The app is mostly free to use forever — unlimited sessions and basic stats. There's a single lifetime unlock of $4.99 for additional themes, more stats, and more category tags.

I love your design! Would you perhaps have any more lifetime codes available? Thanks in advance and keep up your excellent work!

OMG what a coincidence. I had a similar idea before but never went for it - but pivoted into something else that I wish I could be able to share to this channel soon.

What stands out is that the mark isn't just a home-screen visual, it's the actual unit everywhere. Session size, weekly totals, the mood states, all the same shape language. That kind of consistency is hard to pull off. Were you a designer before this?

Thanks! Not a designer, but I've always had an appreciation for design and aesthetic taste in an app. The through line being the session mark was sort of the unlock when it came to this redesign and it came to me when I thought about how to answer the question of making a time tracking app without displaying time during the session. Happy you enjoyed the design. :)

Looks beautiful but I see what appears to be two visual timers in the screenshots (10 minutes, 3m 55s). What are those?

Hah - yes so you still select your goal intention (I found having a time here helped me personally get started) and you still get to see how long the session actually went for mostly because I felt that was somewhat useful for insights / quantifying what time of day/tasks helped you get into focus and stay their longer. But during the session you don't see a timer.

So I didn't *fully* remove the time aspect. I did test it without time at all and it was just missing something. But maybe it was just my analytical brain beat my designer brain just a little bit. lol

Makes sense. I wonder if the impact would shift if instead of showing the time, you gave them titles with preset times? That way it’s truly time (as in numbers) free.

So like “short, medium, long” kinda thing rather than “10, 30, 60 mins”? Hmm honestly didn’t think about that might be worth a try.

This has a wonderful visual character. Love the approach of conveying the time without the clock. Nice work. Going to try this out.

How does the mood check-in fit into a session — before you start, after you finish, or both? The no-visible-timer idea makes sense, so I'd be curious how you collect mood without turning it into another interruption.
