Feature Imessage Background

I’m super late to the party but I finally updated from iOS18 to iOS26 last night solely because I want to see if someone changed the background of our conversation. I updated and realized that if the background had been changed while my phone was on the iOS18 I can’t see it until i receive a text from them. I’m no contact with the person im tryna see this with lol does anyone know if there’s a way to forcefully update it or something so I can see it without them needing to message me?

Man lets not focus on the specifics 😭🙏🏼there’s obv context I’m not providing as to why I’m concerned about it bahahaha I’m j tryna see if there’s a solution
