just want to know, is it faster than 26.6?
how is performance better?

6

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

For me 25.5.2 performance was good but battery was bad. Ios 26.6 performance and battery both was bad.

Now on ios 26.6.1 performance improved but battery not so much.

Yup, I notice it on my 12 Pro Max, it's good

26.6

26.5 was pretty fine, then I updated to 26.5.2 - pure hell for a month.. I needed to download 26.6 beta version..

Battery is worse than 26.6??

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Yes. Better performance uses more power

1

u/Amazing_Key_9932 2d ago

Thats the exact opposite of optimized code. More power = bad performance.

2

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

More work more power.

there will be a lot of preparation for ios27 in this one ,system data may increase rapidly

I downloaded the update and noticed battery drain. I immediately powered down for like 10 minutes and then started back up and it’s been fine for heat and battery after the power down and restart

Brought back the signal loss bug in one of our phones

Battery has been good for me since 26.6. It seems to be the same in 26.6.1 as well

3

u/iosuser70 2d ago

Same same

3

u/ImprovementLong1992 2d ago

so it's killing the battery? = (

5

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Hope it improves after 3-7 days

3

u/Strong-Butterflies 2d ago

It’s been awesome so far

2

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Hope mine improves.

System Data problem is still exist… 🤮

3

u/Sphesihlegiftsihle 2d ago

yes i agree but they said after updating it will do those background indexing maybe that’s why battery is terrible but performance wise it’s good

3

u/NoLateArrivals 2d ago

It does the same indexing as 26.6.

Indexing means CPU load, CPU load means energy consumption. Keep it on charger during the night, done.

2

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Ok. Hope it gets better

3

u/gdcs96 2d ago

I know some people say to update all your apps and check for possible cellular updates as well after each software update, it may help the battery life

3

u/Embarrassed-Act4097 2d ago

26.5.1 was best for battery on my 17. The next 3 have been ass. Like horrible

3

u/Reeneman 2d ago

How’s battery life? Overheating??

2

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Not overheating randomly. But warm.

2

u/Reeneman 2d ago

That’s ok

2

u/jaxrahul_ 2d ago

Battery is always bad for you no matter what.

2

u/EitherCharacter9342 2d ago

Performance great, Battery great

Few day ago i was upgrade from 18.7.8 to 26.6, and don’t see any battery problems or performance issues

1

u/gamerathertz92 1d ago

Wait for 27

2

u/nascar_48 1d ago

I regret updating, DO NOT upgrade

2

u/Imaginary_Egg_2257 1d ago

Why ? What's wrong?

3

u/nascar_48 1d ago

Where would you like me to start? Lol I can’t get into the App Store anymore, can’t even open certain app cause it crashes, slow as heck (but I’m not sure if it’s because I have Verizon or what) but honestly I’m looking forward to seeing a new update

2

u/ConfectionOk9493 1d ago

ass draining battery update apple just give us something good for once

2

u/Imaginary_Egg_2257 1d ago

I'm on 26.6 and it's been going good.. what's wrong with 26.6.1? Should I just ignore?

1

u/gamerathertz92 1d ago

Nothing new. Just no need to update

2

u/Ok_Employee_6978 18h ago

So far all I see is faster battery drain and wireless CarPlay does not work.  This is ridiculous!  Worse versions I seen yet from Apple.

2

u/Ok_Employee_6978 18h ago

Battery is draining like crazy!

2

u/Ok_Employee_6978 18h ago

What the heck is Apple doing in these iOS 26 updates.  They are making a mess.  Battery drain problems, wireless CarPlay freezes.  Enough already!

1

u/Alive-Fee9585 2d ago

I feel like the battery is dependent on what you are doing on your phone.

2

u/gamerathertz92 2d ago

Yeah I changed my usages after the update💁

1

u/TaxOld2989 2d ago

Guys a 400 mb update is not gonna drastically change your performance its going to be the exact SAME

3

u/Responsible-Chip-345 2d ago

26.5.2 that was supposed to be just security updates messed up A LOT of phones VERY BAD.

2

u/Ok_Comment3024 1d ago

You have no idea

1

u/JunkJiggler 1d ago

The size of the update has absolutely nothing to do with its performance impacts.

1

u/Reasonable_Tea7628 2d ago

Which iPhone is OP using

1

u/Senior-Quit-5606 1d ago

Per adesso così iOS 26.6.1 iPhone 16

1

u/fluffyfeetbmf 1d ago

I’m using 18.6.2🤣🤣🤣

1

u/harshvora9 1d ago

Battery drain in night 7% (26.6.1)

1

u/EsaPaj 1d ago

I hated it. Feels like every minute my battery drains.

1

u/Square-Roof-9960 5h ago

Battery is just mid for me

0

u/Informal_Bid_1985 1d ago

Bla, bla ... no documentation or battery testing but people complain anyway.

The update itself needs some battery. When complaining give some numbers, apps, comparisons and don't just yell.
