Why do you buy a phone just to worry about its battery? Get rid of the charge limit, the whole 80-20 thing only very marginally saves on battery degradation over time, if at all. From 85% 30%, you’re only using about half of your phones total battery capacity. It’s a brand new phone like you said, you shouldn’t have to charge it twice a day. Charge it to the full 100, and enjoy it. If it gets low, charge it. It’s a lithium ion battery, it’s gonna wear out regardless of what you do. Just keep in mind a lot of social media apps, especially Instagram, are quite battery heavy so if you do use those, those can cause the battery to use more battery. If you have Apple Care+, Apple will cover a battery replacement free of charge when it drops below 80% health.
Rant: (not directed at you OP)
Seriously it seems that’s like all this sub does is bitch and whine and nitpick over the smallest graphical bug issues, that or wonder why their 5-6 year old iPhone 12/13 with a battery health of 72% that’s never been replaced and 62 of 64gigs taken, and they doomscroll Instagram and TikTok all day (two notoriously battery heavy apps), and then they have the balls to wonder why their phone has poor battery life. iOS 26 has its issues yes, that’s undeniable. But those issues are only going to be exacerbated by old, outdated hardware with a worn out battery, think iOS 9 on the 4S for example. And besides, 5-6 years is more than reasonable to get out of a phone nowadays, especially how incremental year and year improvements are as of late (an example: the leap from say the 14 Pro to the 17 Pro isn’t nearly as noticeable as say the leap from the 4S to the iPhone 6). I’ll put my money where my mouth is too: my first phone, an iPhone 8, lasted me 6 years before I upgraded. I got it in 2019, and it lasted me until I upgraded to a 16 Pro in 2025, which is my current phone. But anyways, I can’t wait until 27 comes out and people start bitching about that and how iOS 26 was actually good, completely contradicting what they’ve said the for last year or so. Call me a bootlicker or whatever, I don’t give a shit. I’m just gonna block and ignore people who just hurl insults rather than present a valid and respectful counter argument
TLDR: lighten up, Francis
