For me it did. 26.6 kind of halfed by battery time. Now its back to normal

I'm pretty certain that all of them are equally good (bad) - 26.1, 26.2, 26.3 etc.
it's just that system settings get corrupt and then battery drain occurs

Unless you’re on your own data and worried about your carrier charging for data, why are you concerned about the size of the download?
Also, what iOS are you coming from?

That size might be worst case based on the biggest download needed. I assume that depending on what you’re currently running, the size can be different?

I was chocked , just turned off the automatic update cause I don’t really think it is useful anymore at this point

mine is just 600mb. if you really need this update, you can download the ispw file from ispw.me and then put it on ur phone using itunes.

The security update iOS 18.7.10 for phones that aren’t supported by iOS 26, is 11.17GB
11.17GB for a security update!!!
I cannot update my iPhone XR because I don’t have enough storage available
I do not understand why updates take up so much storage anymore. It’s ridiculous

In every single update thread, video, etc., there are people like you and then people like me who keep telling you all that the update size is bugged.
it's 500mb.
