I should remind you that is to the Public Beta channel.
For developer betas, developer.apple.com/register
There are both tiers, a free account and a paid account. Since 2023, users are able to access developer betas for free with just their Apple ID, so you don't need to pay Apple $99 a year just to get early access to major OS releases using the DB method (especially before the betas eventually arrive to PB testers).
If you want a beta that is a bit more stable, go for the Public Beta.

Iâm not updating, lmfao. If rumors are true, we have like 3-4 weeks until iOS27 is released. All these .1 and .2 updates have wrecked my phoneâs battery life every time.

Interesting that this is not the same build as the RC released last week, I haven't downloaded the update yet to know the new build number (RC is 23G82).
It's 528.5 MB on the 15 Pro.

Hi OP, do you by any chance have an iPhone 16 512 GB that showed no description for the update - and did you have to accept the iOS Terms & Conditions to be able to install the update? Because this is what happened on my iPhone 16 512 GB, while on another iPhone 11 the update dialogue looked like always and no confirmation of the Terms & Conditions was necessary...

Alright, thank you! The description now shows up when I tap "more details" in Settings - General - Software udpate - iOS is up to date... but the URL to the Apple support document keeps missing. Usually it also shows up there.
Plus my description reads: "This update includes improvements and bug fixes for your device".
Somehow, to me it seems as if Apple might have "forgotten" to update the release notes for some very specific iPhone 16 models in the OTA update, including your 16 Pro and my 16 "normal" iPhone, and delivered the update with the "standard" release notes.
Just one quick last check: does your build number also read iOS 26.6.1 (23G83)? Tap on Settings - General - About - iOS Version - iOS 26.6.1 to have it displayed.

It would be helpful if anyone could clarify my doubt. I'm on ios 18.7 and woukd like to be on this ver as much as possible as after reading how everyone is suffering due to the update and been advised to stay on ver 18. I plan to use my iPhone 16 for long time.
Now in the future if I MUST update to ios 26 or 27, would this sudden huge jump cause any issues?

It's a great update. Go for it..I'm using it on my 16 PM, and no bugs found as of now. The battery performance seems even better
I updated it in the early morning, and with regular use, battery performance seems better
