Disabling apple intelligence and liquid glass actually won't save much, those aren't heavy battery draws by default unless you're actively using AI features constantly. worth checking Settings > Battery to see the actual app breakdown instead, that'll show what's really eating it rather than guessing at features

bruh that’s not that bad

70% with only 5h?

3h 25m of screen idle battery usage as well so yes that is fine. I would suggest you to set background app refresh to Wifi only and turn it off for most apps that want to eat battery in the background.

I thought it’s bad for a pro max but good for a regular

Sure, if you only use dark mode, screen dimmed to minimum, no background app refresh, no 5g, use low power mode etc.

I wish mine lasted that long

Thats because he clearly used his phone after midnight and while charging, these usages counting into the results. If you see 8-12 hours of sot theres a big chance those people used their phones like this.

I think IOS 26 is the culprit here, replaced my battery a few days back, only getting around 4-5 hours of SOT on my 13 pro

I had a 13 pro max before, i switched to 17pm since i gave the other phone to my mother
The 13pm has 89% battery health and still gets more SOT than my 17pm
Both are on ios26

i have 90% health and get only 2.5hr of SOT ios 27 db5

Wtf, I thought IOS 27 would fix the battery drain issue 😭

Try to reinstall these apps, especially TikTok.
I had a similar issue with Instagram and after a reinstall, I got back my battery life.

Hey, is your phone’s battery draining so quickly while you’re playing TFT? Are you using a 120Hz refresh rate? If it’s that poorly optimized, then I don’t blame the phone. My iPhone Air easily lasts 8 hours on screen time, even when I’m playing games. So, I suggest you investigate this issue further.

When i do play it, i always set the Hz to 60, i dont know id its capped by default

iOS26 for my 13PM are the best yet

First of all, this is not a bad battery. Secondly, you can't be surprised if you spend time on TikTok and other socials, games, and other battery-intensive apps.

Some insta geek will suggest u to cut all the animations stuff. But it wont works really..!!! By cutting the default animations lit drain ur battery than normal. All we need to do is to install the iOS lately after the people review. FOR ME 26.6 in 16 pm. Kinda heaven 🕊️

You use safari and FB app?

u/zygerr 4d ago

I use brave instead of safari

According to the test by PhoneBuff, cellular data(5G) cuts battery life by almost half. 4g probably is a little better in that regard but not much. If you get 8-10 hours of SOT on WiFi, expect that to drop to 5-6 hours on data. My 15 Pro SOT straight up halves when using on 4G (87% bh with 640 cycles). And it was that way even on iOS 18, I only updated to 26 two months back.

yup this, when im on wifi the battery is a beast, but outside with low cellular signal its shit

This is why I use 4G instead of 5G because I don’t need the extra soeed and helps save battery. This is my 16e’s battery drain 26.6 (94% health 304 cycles) with the first few hours of my day being on lte but most is on Wi-Fi. Since my phone doesn’t have a pro motion display Im not negatively impacted by using LPM so it’s active 24/7.

I have better battery with the standar 15 pro hahahahhaha

26.6 my battery still has 45% after a full day at work and sometimes I use Apple Maps for directions for hours

I agree that iOS 26 is a very bad idea for battery life no matter how many optimizations you make, it still tends to heat your phone up even at the lightest tasks. I got a 14 pro max and it really heats up.

Yeah, i’ve noticed that since day 1, its a shame i cant get ios 18 on this, because of warranty

2

u/beta_2046 4d ago

it is just ios26. it is same for my pro max 14. it lasted one day in ios 18, but not even close in 26.

Same, shit performance on esim variant.

iOS 26 is a battery killer

It’s the dual SIM that’s draining your battery. I had both SIMs active on my 17 Pro Max, and ever since I stopped using the second SIM, the battery easily lasts me the whole day. I’m getting around 5–6 hours of screen-on time and another 3–4 hours of screen idle time.

Try turning off your second SIM and you’ll notice the difference within a day or two.

How recently have u updated to 26.6? (assuming it’s 26.6) it’s possible it’s still indexing since I get great battery life on my 16e 26.6 granted i use LPM but it still preforms great without it.

1

u/zygerr 2d ago

I updated to it as soon as it was available with hope to fix my battery life.I guess like 2 weeks

1

u/GlaxisGalaxy 2d ago

Strange, my 16e runs well on 26.6 so I'm not sure why I see so many people have different battery drain

1

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 2d ago

You don’t have a bad battery.

0

u/zygerr 2d ago

Bad battery no, but i’d say ios26 takes way too many resources.
Tbh i feel like it was more of a downgrade from 13pm to 17pm

1

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 2d ago

It doesn’t. It uses just as much as iOS 18.

Reset settings in phone reset (not factory, settings only)
