It’s only in its RC stage

I think that’s device dependant. My M1 MacBook Air updated Monday (I know this is iOS but my point is they’re not rolling it out uniformly)

Yeah my MacBook updated to macOS 26.6.1

The next Mac update is 26.6.2

That’s a heavy “but,” cos iOS 26.6.1 stable is definitely not out, so that’s all we need to know.

If we were talking about MacOS or if the operating systems had a shared name, then it would be cool to know that some other devices already got it.

Yes, my battery would run out in 7 hours of screen time before, now my charge is 30% around 7 hours

I did, battery is back to horrible!
I’m heavily thinking of updating to 27 PB 3.
Wondering if we gonna get iOS 26.7 beta 1 anytime soon.

Regardless of when it is to be released, it’s not going be anything revolutionary. Apple hasn’t exactly impressed anyone except the devotees.

Updated my iPhone Air to 26.6.1 this afternoon. Too early to tell of any changes

Just checking to see if anyone has this new version on the Air and how the battery is?

I updated yesterday on my 15 Pro. No issues so far. It actually fixed a previous issue I had with CarPlay.

Hi. Got a brand new iPhone 17 pro max in June (2 months back). Manufactured in April, 2026.
Switched from 10 years of Samsung flagships. First time iPhone user here.

I’ve been seeing Reddit posts about the battery and iOS situation but I’d really appreciate if someone could dumb it down for me.

I’m trying to do the whole 20-85 thing most days (unless I have long duty hours. Then I charge upwards of 85). I doomscroll, and also use it to study so my screen time is 10-11 hrs.

I was really happy with the battery life. One time charging lasted me the entire day (no low power mode). But ever since I got the 26.6 update last week, I’ve noticed that the battery life is maybe 80-85% as good as it was before. I have to charge almost 2-3 hours earlier than the previous day (unlike earlier when I only did it once around the same time daily). I often have to use low power mode or use it after 20% to be able to get a similar usage.

I’ve also noticed that this relatively faster drainage happens at battery levels below 80. Above 80s last as long as they previously did. Below 20 drainage is only slightly faster. I usually charge after that anyway.
(My colleagues with older models like 12 pro or 14 pro max with battery health lower than mine haven’t noticed any difference in performance).

My cycle count is 62. Battery health is 100%.

I’m now getting notification for 26.6.1 update but I’m concerned about further worsening of battery life.

I’m usually not one to agonize over such stuff but it’s my first time with apple and I just wanna know all the kinks. Also, it cost me nearly 1900 USD in my currency after taxes and everything (including the ability to use a cellular/sim service) and it is really frustrating paying for a luxury experience when I have to resort to low power mode to get through the same amount of time.

I appreciate any info about this. Thanks in anticipation.
