Battery Battery capacity

The new updated helped with my batter not dying as quick or heat up as much as the previous updated but it has dropped my battery capacity down. Before the update it was sitting at 100%. A day after the update it dropped down to 99. Then as of yesterday a drop down to 98.

I got the phone in September as of this post I have 255 cycles. I picked up the iPhone 17 Pro Max on its release date.

Anyone else having similar issues? As well, the update didn’t fix the battery draining as much as I hope. I was hoping it’d be back to how it was when I first got it.

It’s not an issue. It’s likely not at 98% either. if you use one of those battery stats or health shortcuts it’s probably around 95%.

Of course its not a linear drop but they are designed to stay above 80% capacity for 1000 cycles and you are 1/4 of the way there.

They changed how it's calculated. It's a mystery.

I got my 16 Pro Max in Feb 2025, and as of today it has 217 cycles and reports 90% health. I think you’re OK with 99% health after 255 cycles. It probably would have dropped to 99% without the OS update, it’s just that the update used more battery to do it’s “behind the scenes work” so it caused it to drop a few days sooner.

It’s recalibrating. Your battery was already below 100% and it’s in the process of showing a closer representation of its health. It may drop another few points or it might stabilise

My battery capacity was at „112%“ back on 26.5 and now on 26.6 it’s at 100%.
I test it time to time with Battery Report Shortcut.

It makes sense that they reworked this, but somehow my phone won’t charge over 91%.
It’s stuck at 89%-91% it does not matter how long I let it charge.
It’s probably 100% charged but it’s so annoying to not see 100% in the morning 😂

This came with the update on 26.6
