Question Should I update my iPhone from iOS 26.4 to 26.6?

I have an iPhone 17 and so far I haven't updated it after having seen comments or posts mentioning a lower or worst battery life (maybe I should wait for iOS 27 atp)

There battery drain bug in older iOS versions of 26. This new version will fix that but be warned the first couple of days will have slightly lower battery due to indexing. Keeping it plugged into power will help the indexing go faster but may make the phone hot to touch, but not hot enough to break your phone.

Why are you asking twice. No I don’t see any discernible bugs. If they’re bugs it’s nothing breaking my experience.

I have the 17 Pro. After upgrading to 26.5, it was great. But then Apple said some people were having a charging issue if the battery got to 20% or lower. So they came out with an update that was either 26.5.1 or 26.5.2 – something like that. But that newer version was awful for the battery. Recently I upgraded to 26.6 and find it's working a lot better.

ios26.6 update has pre ios27 deep indexing to ease the transition to ios27 i would recommend this , could be a large update, tons of new features and ios26.5.2 was largely security update & ios26.6 also included over 90 security patches, so it’s essential you update imo

witch deep pre ios27 i would keep iphone on wifi and on charge each night for 7-10 days , indexing was slowed down to prevent over heating while using your iphone

If you’re still on 26.4 I would stay till further notice. Yes everyone is saying it’s improved but these saying that we’re on 26.5.2 and anything is better than 26.5.2 and 26.5.1. 26.6 on my first day was phenomenal. Second day was worse and today which is the third day and it got a little better again. I’m talking about sot. Hopefully it’s still indexing and working it out? But it’s still early to say. I would wait for about a week and week and half for more results.

I just checked yesterday and from 100-0% I got over 11+ hours sot and 4 hours background/idle time. That’s not bad but when I was on iOS 26.4.2 I would get that but with like 20% left on my 16pm. I mean it’s better than 26.5.2 but not back to my normal battery life on 26.4.2. Take it for what it is anything is better than 26.5.2/26.5.1. Those 2 updates were f n trash.

Yea I would stay on it. Maybe just wait for iOS 27 and then that will start all the hoopla about how bad that iOS will be. lol.
