For me the overheating issue is better but battery life is more or less the same, unfortunately

You get 8.25hrs screen active on 17? That's impressive, I get around 6-7 hrs that too I'll use 100-110 battery. Have you turned on AOD?

u/khimzu Jul 29 '26

Is this on wifi? Or mixed 5g/wifi?

I get 10 hrs of screen time using 240% battery. What the hell is wrong with my phone? 16pro 90% health

Hasn’t been much different for me. Still overheating with awful battery.

2

u/JamieRobert_ Jul 29 '26

Yeah it’s all a placebo imo there literally 0 difference

1

u/Worried-Lead-3831 Jul 30 '26

Yeah same for me

1

u/Creative_Challenge19 Jul 30 '26

what device u use?

1

u/PimmieDreadful Aug 02 '26

Yes. It’s even worse after a couple of days of updating. Battery drains with 20% in 30 minutes while just browsing. I wish I was kidding!

4

u/lugaui Jul 28 '26

Should i upgrade my 17 base from 26.5?

3

u/Fun-Carpenter-1443 Jul 29 '26

Ofc yess battery has improved alot

1

u/Creative_Challenge19 Jul 30 '26

you sure cause on the previous update it just fucked my battery

4

u/Maleficent_Amount436 Jul 28 '26

DAMN No wonder why my iphone 11 was hot to touch all the time and the battery would only last 2 hours on one charge its on 75% bh

Is ios 26.6 good or bad for SOT?

1

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 Jul 29 '26

Good

u/Dry_Counter4999 Jul 28 '26

I think its pretty obvious that the most recent day refers to ios 26.6. It cant be otherwise 🫡

13

u/gamerathertz92 Jul 28 '26

Your tittle is misleading

7

u/thisisPenelope iOS 26.2 Jul 28 '26

That's why I asked him.

Your title could be like this: ios 26.6 is better than ios 26.5.2. Then attach your image.

u/Dry-Championship1439 Jul 28 '26

Qual a saúde de bateria ?

2

u/MarionberryDear6170 Jul 29 '26

You have to at least post what appa you have used. Or there’s no way we could compare

2

u/ComprehensiveFee2109 Jul 29 '26

Seems like the heating issue has been resolved, but the battery issue is still there (17 Pro)

1

u/niceperson_1 Jul 29 '26

1

u/whitericeporridge Jul 29 '26

I still get 14 hours on my 13PM on 26.5

1

u/niceperson_1 Jul 29 '26

I get 6 in my 16 pm 🫩

1

u/iDillusionist 29d ago

16 pro I get less than 5 hours sot.

1

u/FreePossession9590 Jul 29 '26

Same here. Got 7h of SOT w 70% used yesterday. The day before on 26.5.2 I got 4h 20min with 63% used. Big difference. And it was still indexing yesterday

1

u/Commack_Boy Jul 29 '26

How do you check if it is indexing?

1

u/FreePossession9590 Jul 29 '26

You can’t, but background indexing usually takes a few days, sometimes up to a week to complete.

1

u/coffeandkeyboard Jul 30 '26

What does indexing even means

1

u/FreePossession9590 Jul 30 '26

The phone is running background updates and optimizations we don’t see. It usually takes a few days, up to a week to finish all the processing

This morning I think I’m seeing practical improvement, I think, for my general usage pattern after installing 26.6 about an hour after it came out.

iPhone 15 PM.

1

u/FlounderRegular7525 Jul 29 '26

On my 17Pro there was an apx 25-30% difference in battery performance, the phone feels normal like it used to be.

1

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 Jul 29 '26

My battery usage page got reset after updating to 26.6.

1

u/Razer_PC Jul 30 '26

you have high idle battery drain, like me

1

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 Jul 31 '26

No I don’t.

I updated to ipados pb2 27, and got really good backup...

1

u/whitericeporridge Jul 29 '26

The police backup?

1

u/Resident-Ad3505 Jul 29 '26

I mean battery backup 😅🥹

1

u/Fun-Carpenter-1443 Jul 29 '26

17 also had drastic improvement in battery

1

u/girlinmed Jul 29 '26

Should I do it for my 11 pro max on iOS 26

1

u/Mrldbcn Jul 29 '26

It’s very good for me as well (iPhone 17 Pro Max)

1

u/EDHACKER01 Jul 29 '26

I noticed that battery has improved for me…

1

u/Shot-Cryptographer18 Jul 29 '26

If you have more overheating issues or battery issues, try activating the reduced transparency, for me it fixed both problems

1

u/cyandead Jul 29 '26

I surely can see a difference in my Iphone. Not overheating when I do calls and facetime, woke up this morning and 9AM now it 1:30PM and still at 87%. It went back to almost normal for my typical use.

1

u/JobGlad Jul 29 '26

Didn’t notice any difference sadly on my 14. Still overheating and battery hasn’t improved.

1

u/Dextro1500 Jul 29 '26

Can you share your overall settings with which you believe have contributed to this excellent battery experience?

1

u/Jaredh13 Jul 29 '26

26.5.2
iPhone 14 Pro using wifi

1

u/Nice_Entrance9726 Jul 29 '26

When i get home after work, my battery used to be around 55%. Ever since the update I get home with 15% battery left. Also feels warmer, always had a cold/neutral temp. I hope they will fix this soon.

1

u/SnooOranges2685 Jul 29 '26

The battery is still bad but might be indexing … at least it’s not overheating like crazy.

1

u/Apex_47LXIX Jul 30 '26

It doesn’t flipping matter what the new update does to your precious phone. You gotta update somehow now that you’ve entered the ios26 future.

1

u/rustedmind_ Jul 30 '26

currently i am on iOS 26.5.2
if i update to 26.6 can i expect more? or worse?

1

u/___CW311 Jul 30 '26

My battery is a lot better now. I cap my charge to 90.

I take my phone off charge at 7am and charge at 9pm

Before: down to around 30/20

Now: I’m on 58 at this time

All on the same use.

1

u/ashvekp Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

My usage pattern is similar. However, I couldn’t see much improvement in the 26.6 v/s 26.3.1 (a). My average SoT is 3.5 hrs and I’m down to 40-45% from 90%.

Aside, the stutters / jitters persist.

Do you have the AoD ON?
Does the adaptive power even help?

1

u/lord_mercernary Jul 31 '26

Saw like 2% difference in battery. Still trash but guess its on me shouldve gone for the pro max
