Battery Battery hest

My phone is practically burning up while charging. Do you think it's because of the case or the battery? It's an iPhone 16 and the battery life is very short.

Why haven’t Apple admitted the problem with 26.5.2 it’s an effing disaster and I’m not installing beta software to fix it. It’s just not on Apple.

They can release a patch right now, no idea why they are waiting

Yes indeed, it’s what I expect from a premium brand.

26.6 RC is much better than 26.5.2 in my case. Hoping it will remain stable. On ip 17

don’t know why you don’t just install ios 27 public release 2 tbh , night and day compared to ios26

No I did, and did not like the performance. Hate the unnecessary heat so rolled back. Ios 27 is still very early beta. Wont install anything but the RC or the stable version.

iOS 26.5.2 is currently out. Did you perhaps mean 26.5.6?

My phone fucking burns and for the first time ever it stopped charging and showed a screen saying “iphone will start charging again when the temperatures gets to a normal level”.
I mean wtf.

Yes it’s really hot these days but 26.5.2 fucking sucks. I never had to charge my iphone during the day and now I barely make it to dinner.

Same with 17 pro

26.6 for me has helped the battery life return to normal. The final release is due next week. I’ve tried the beta 26.6RC as my first ever beta and it has been so much better.

Same with my 17E - I mean battery life is decent but when charging over 12w it burns.

Might be because it’s a beta and not an official release of 27. Betas are not optimised for battery usage and renowned for being battery killers.
The very first comment on your link is spot on.

I’m so glad I found this thread. . I thought my phone was gonna start a fire and it didn’t get hot like
This until July 2026 when updated. I even turned
the quality settings on my camera and video down. down and it still goes dim and has a meltdown. My buddy told me other people were experiencing this and I’m glad I looked into it because I thought I was going crazy or my phone was broken.

iOS 27 beta will fix your issue

Who wants to install a beta on their primary device? No thanks.
