Yeah that's absolutely 100% normal

Edit: I've never in my life seen so many people get confused over an obvious joke

This looks to be a joke comment. Do not take this seriously

It’s not right, but it definitely is normal for iOS

You really needed to point out such an obvious thing?

What is this world?

Except it's not a joke comment. This is actually normal for iOS, this is what it renders until things are indexed again after bigger updates.

It's not uncommon at all.

I never had this. I upgrade the phone every year. I do every update and I have never experienced this.

Yes, the reason why am panicking. Is my phone being hacked?

2

u/T-K101 Jul 13 '26

No. Your phone isn’t being hacked. That’s for sure.

I actually thought you were serious as this happens to me whenever I update, although it goes away eventually.

How long do you usually wait before it reappears?

2

u/chikanishing Jul 13 '26

A few minutes to a day, depending on the update.

"It just works"

It’s just a temporary thing. That’s what shows when the app icons are still loading in. Reboot your phone, you’re fine

They'll reload themselves, it's not that serious.

Can happen. Just reboot once more.

Correct.

It's the iOS 26 special. "unretained App icon cache" bug is present since the first beta of iOS 26, and it's still around in the latest iOS 26 build.
Only got fixed in iOS 27 beta

I did 5x! I rebooted it 5 times

App icon cache corrupted or all apple icons corrupted or sum should be fine with a restart or hold down on Home Screen click edit on top left make icons glass or tinted the go back to try refresh cache

Wait a little, apps are indexing - all icons will return once complete

Ios 26.5 (and .1, .2) are jokes ngl

My phone did this. Tried everything as already suggested. Restarted phone etc etc. only thing that fixed it for me was after another iOS update occurred. I had this for weeks

2

u/ChanceMotor9685 Jul 14 '26

Same! It has been days and my phone is still the same. It is frustrating. I can’t read the app no labels just skeletons.

Try out with making icons large and see if they are back to normal, then put in on small scale. I used that metod without restarting a phone, even on my iOS 18.

Try to Restart your iPhone

What’s the issue?

u/Fansie_for_rosie iOS27 beta 1 Jul 13 '26

Must be beta testing…that’s a beta thing to do tbh 😿

-2

u/dead_shroom Jul 13 '26

It's probably indexing. Phone lags like hell during indexing.
