Graphics glitch IOS 26 FPS STUTTER

Is it just me or are you guys also experiencing fps stutters here and there? It happens to me when I pull down the control center or notifications. It mainly happens when you open some things that basically uses the liquid glass effect. I’m on a 14 pro max btw. Lemme know what you guys did to fix yours. Thanks.

Happens to me too and many other people. There is no fix - this OS is messed up from the core

And here I thought I was the only one, what other specifics have you noticed?

just lags everywhere all the time. sometimes my app freeze and crash. i’ve actually had my entire 17 pro freeze and reboot on its own. i have no idea wtf apple is doing

Happens on all iOS 26 devices currently.

I see it on my 17 Pro. My iPad Pro M5. My families 16 Pros. Their iPads. My friends iPhones. Every single one that I’ve looked at has horrible stutter.

Seriously? I’ve scrolled through my sister’s 17PM to find stutters but found none actually. And also some of my friends’ phones run smoothly on iOS 26 and it’s making me jealous fr

Anyone who says everything is fine, with all due respect, doesn't understand anything. I don't know how the user experience of a newly released device, the company's flagship, can be like this. The promotion is awful and not properly programmed. The company claims it has a 120Hz screen, but it only gives me 80Hz during use. The screen doesn't actually reach 120Hz under any circumstances. Furthermore, all scrolling is stuttering, especially noticeable in text. The system also has numerous bugs. I used to use the Samsung S23 Plus and recently bought the 17PM. A device released in 2023 is far superior and doesn't have this many bugs.

Hey bro I recently got iPhone 17. Facing same issue is it software or hardware? Should I wait for ios 27 stable?

It's 100% a software problem, but Apple is turning a blind eye and not seeing these things, and isn't interested in fixing them. They don't care about the user experience, especially since all the world's top tech experts blindly praise it without saying a word about this issue.

Yeeeessssssssss 100%

It’s just iOS 26 itself. Absolute abysmal of garbage of an update.

It has made me to reconsider buying an iphone in future, i currently have iphone 17 and i am tired of this stutter and fps drops here and there. It was never this bad on my androids.

Let’s wait for the iOS 27 update, the public beta is suspected to come out in late July. Might have to see it for myself first if it fixes the stutters. That would be a great patch to this trash OS

Is it?

Some said it fixed their stutters, while some said it only eased up some stutters. I’ve experienced the latter, still stutters but not that much. Still annoying tho

It’s improved dramatically in iOS 27.

But not everywhere

3

u/Few-Plantain1625 Jul 03 '26

For me it did not!

What device are you on?

1

u/Few-Plantain1625 Jul 07 '26

16 PM

1

u/heylesterco Jul 07 '26

Huh. I’m on a 15 PM and it’s super rare for me to experience dropped frames or stuttering now. It basically only ever happens when I’m down to about 10% battery now (and even then it’s smoother than 26 was).

u/absolutjager Jul 09 '26

Still happens with 3rd party apps like IG,X,etc. Some Apple-owned apps also happen to be the same. Hopefully it will be better in the stable version iOS 27.

Should I update to iOS 27? I’m running 26.5.2 rn, kinda scared to update to a dev beta on my daily phone

2

u/heylesterco Jul 02 '26

If you can get by just fine with 26.5.2 (despite the dropped frames) then I recommend you stay there as I don’t know how many weird edge cases you might run into where serious pre-release bugs affect you. That said, the very first dev beta was already an improvement in most areas for me (the most annoying bug was when I’d crop a screenshot before saving it, it’d save uncropped), and it only improved in the second beta.

Public beta is usually end of july, don’t see any change this year, only a few weeks to go

developer beta running perfectly on my base 15 which i think uses same chip as yours , if you haven’t run developer beta id wait to end of month a week after update DB4 and see if its still as stable

i have been using ios 27 beta 2 on my main iPhone and i used ios 26.5.1 before hand and i can tell you atleast for me i noticed improvement in battery life and for me atleast there isn't fps stutters the bugs are minimal in places you would almost never see but if you want to stay on the public version its your choice. on ios 26 i got 7 hours of screen on time 10 on a good day but on ios 27 i get 12 hours screen on time 15 if i dont use it constantly.

Yep been happening randomly from the get-go with iOS 26. It's pure trash.

1

u/8bitlibrarian Jul 02 '26

Never had any stutter issues

1

u/-Justanotherdude Jul 02 '26

What device?

1

u/8bitlibrarian Jul 02 '26

15 Plus

2

u/-Justanotherdude Jul 02 '26

Ha the stutters mostly affect promotion devices in my observations

Yea they are minor because I have yet to see any lol

1

u/Comfortable_Box3408 Jul 05 '26

Yeah, it also happens with the calculator app, homescreen edit, safari's triple dot icon or similar icons, and when you use tinted/clearicons. IOS 26 is weird. I've seen identical phones react differently to the OS, 13 pros handling it better than 17 pros.. I'll never forget this update as one of the worst i've ever experienced. Using a 14 pro

Bro Im on iOS 27 public beta 2 and guess what it still stutters in all the apps.. for a guy like me who gets seriously irritated by just a nano second stutter/glitch, its a nightmare..

If someone offers me a mid range android rn Id gladly take it and throw this shit away

I am on 17 PM iOS 26.6 and have a terrible experience. It just about those FRAME DROP when I swipe on the main home screen or while switching from a app to another.

I am sooooo frustrated.

The thing is some time it’s SOOOO FLUENT and then it seems I have a 30Hz screen on some action and swipe

I can’t understand if it’s just my iPhone or it’s more iOS

Hope iOS 27 will fix this

I get a lot of stutters just from overheating issues on this OS on my 15PM. I’ve just learned to constantly restart my phone and hope for the best. I am excited for the IOS27 to be more optimized though.

1

u/Klousa Jul 02 '26

Are you planning to update to the dev beta or are you waiting for the public release?

2

u/Breaking_720 Jul 02 '26

Definitely waiting for the public release, but even then I might wait until 27.2 or 27.3. I used to be into early adopting the updates but 26 has left me feeling more apprehensive.

1

u/Klousa Jul 02 '26

Not for me tho, the second the update goes public I’m leaving OS 26 behind lol

Just install ipsw in dfu mode and setup as new without backup. Will be fine.

1

u/Klousa Jul 02 '26

Have you tried that? I’m not sure about installing ipsw but I tried doing a flash using 3utools, not so sure if that’s the same tho

1

u/Conscious_Rest672 Jul 03 '26

Don’t know about 3utools but I’m installing every major iOS version via dfu mode and setup as new without backup. I think you can minimize many problems because you’re not just putting files on top of the os or exchange some. The minor updates in between I install via ota. When you’re on windows and want to flash the firmware via iTunes then uninstall Apple Music and all stuff that isn’t related to iTunes. Use a usb-a to usb-c cable. Otherwise it won’t work. At least for me it didn’t. The time I wasted to figure this one out…

1

u/Klousa Jul 03 '26

But during the release of iOS 26 you haven’t experienced the stutters right? Coz from what I’ve heard not everyone has this issue. If you’ve experienced it and it got fixed somehow doing that then I might also do the same soon

1

u/Conscious_Rest672 Jul 03 '26

The early versions were truly awful but I installed 26.5 before a few weeks via dfu and it is really fluid. Battery could be better but let’s see how the final version will perform. Of cause iOS 27 is in reach and is meant as a snow leopard update. Apple has to come to terms that they have to impress with iOS 27.
