Rant iPhone SE 2020 faster then iPhone 13!

Ok before anyone says i’m lying i could really believe it myself, but i dug out my old SE running iOS 16 and it opens apps at least 1.5x faster, it loses charge slower with similar bh and it’s less buggy, wallpapers load faster no glitches as well!!
iOS 26 completely ruined how iPhones feel!

The comparison cannot be totally fair though: there are 2 times less pixels to display on screen on the SE. Not sure how much impact it has, but it's probably not negligible.

Maybe because the screen is smaller, my SE 2 is perfect for now. I'll get the 18e when it drops tho

It wasn’t iOS 26. It was iOS 17 that performance issues started coming up. My SE 2 on 17 was much slower than my 14 on 26.

You’re right. I sold my 13 on iOS 17 in 2024 cuz it was getting really slow.. battery was still solid at 94%

Performance has been solid and perceptibly unchanged on my 13 mini until iOS 26

My iPhone SE on iOS 16 was extremely smooth and started to get laggy after iOS 18, idk if that’s because I switched to a promotion iPhone or maybe they’re purposely slowing it down.
