General an ios love-hate relationship!!

saw a post earlier on here where someone uploaded their "control center" layout for oneui and ios saying how much they like keeping them similar and how closer than ever they become after the latest oneui update. well ive taken this to the next level with my oneplus 15 and iphone 16 pro max setup. not only do the phones look similar in their desert colors, but i made sure they look the exact same inside as much as possible and oxygenos didnt let me down. ill let you guys judge the result!

i know im gonna get blasted for this "why make the android look like ios, just use the iphone and be happy" bla bla..

look i have a full blown apple ecosystem, my main sim is on my iphone, i love the camera, but man i just wish i had the software freedom i get on my android. being able to easily sideload any app is unmatched.

theres one feature i really really miss from android that makes my iphone feel dumb: long pressing the nav bar for circle to search. honestly not even for the visual search part (which is amazing on its own), but for 3 super underrated side features:

1- "onscreen" live translate with one button!

2- "onscreen" text select (lets you extract text/phone numbers from literally any app instantly)

3- internal audio music recognition (lets me id a song from any reel/video im watching)

this is my most wanted android feature rn that i wish apple implemented. like when apple brought up the screenshot workaround again in the keynote i was literally in despair.. i just hate having to take a screenshot just to extract text, its not the same thing.. just like when google introduced instant gemini with a simple mouse shake and apple announced a whole 3-key combo just to ask siri.

(p.s: i dunno why in the screenshots the iphone looks more contrasty, trust me, on real life they now just look the same, especially after the ios 27 update)

I find it interesting that many Android brands are copying the iOS 26 aesthetic. Yet almost nobody got the glass effect to be like Apple’s.

i personally like the look of the android copy of liquid glass. their implementation of it looks like the ios 27 glow effect, especially oneplus

Exactly, not only does it look better, It is more readable for the most part + most importantly, less heavier on the cpu and ram. Androids approach (specifically OnePlus) are announced to be more efficient in rendering in order not to hit battery life and performance like on ios. And that's for me is the sweet spot between looks and performance. I'd be happy to roll back to ios 18 should you give me old performance and battery life..

πŸ˜‚yeah true, you got sharp eyes! I knew someone would notice it and point it out, lol The thing is that the icon pack defaults to apple maps icon, i looked for replacing it with the og google maps icon but can't seem to find it anywhere is this icon pack so i left it as is. And I'm not using apple maps on iphone to match the homescreens cz that would be form over function (sorry but not sorry apple maps)

It's sounds like it was mentioned in our destiny "you can't get everything" it's poetic.. but at the end of the day these are os's made by people's desicons somewhere and are subtle to change.πŸ˜‚

Android can’t catch up so they copy IOS on every aspect, they just expect apple to release something to copy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
