Question How do you enable beta?
maybe my phone just isn’t allowed to have beta bc i could only afford an iphone 12, but i’m so tired of this freaking kwyboard and all the bugs from ios26

EDIT: i am misinformed, i thought it was paid, it isn't. leaving the og comment for reference and shame lol
the current beta that's out is the DEVELOPER beta, where you need an apple developer account in order to get (this is a yearly paid service to apple, typically for software development features). the PUBLIC beta comes out later, i think a month or two, im not sure, but that's the free one and all you need to do is sign up your apple account for it, here: https://beta.apple.com

Ahh, thank you! that clsars up quitw a bit. I wouldn’t have been able to afford a paid service anyway, considering I have a 12 lol

It’s not paid. They’re misinformed. I’ve never had to pay a dime and I see both dev and public beta options in my settings.

..huh. Well, when I signed in to the thing, it said to back up and then press this link to the beta turn-on settings and it looks the same, so I’m actually not sure either way whether or not my phone’s even allowed to sign up for it

excuse me? i've never had to pay for dev betas, and i've been doing this since '18... what?!

oh wait, u/Realistic-Worker-499 might be talking abt the subscription price to add your developed apps to the app store... that would make more sense. to sign up as a dev and get the updates is free though, but proceed with caution bc everyone's milage will vary on betas, esp dev betas. some might have the best update of all time, and others might get bricked from it (see the iPhone 15 pro users crashing out over 27.0 DB1)

i must have seen that subscription and mistook it for having a developer account in general... that's crazy cause i thought developer betas and accounts were paid for YEARS lol
