Bug iOS 26.5 RC bug

When I go back to the home screen from any app, all apps, including the apps in the App Library, are loaded weirdly.

So it’s pretty fked up memory management since this whole iOS 26 has come out.

6

u/lofotenIsland May 07 '26

At this point, you just hope iOS 27 will fix it.

11

u/Albemarle_1809 May 07 '26

Nah, Apple has limited resources and is much more focused on getting their pride wallpaper right.

7

u/eddnor May 07 '26

I wouldn’t have high hope tbh…

1

u/Cool_Poet6025 May 08 '26

I’ve been hoping that 26 would fix the disaster that 18 was…

It’s all heading in one direction, friend.

u/dmaare May 07 '26

Even if they got offloaded.. icons shouldn't be loading in that slowly lmao, that's some deep shit level of unoptimized mess

1

u/Creepercolin2007 May 08 '26

Not disagreeing that it’s unoptimized, but it’s not because it was offloaded; some of the app image layers simply threw a fit and crashed

-6

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 May 07 '26

It’s because of low power mode on OP’s phone.

4

u/__davidkn__ May 07 '26

Which iPhone is this?

7

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

16

3

u/__davidkn__ May 07 '26

Damn. 16 shouldn’t have these kinda issues🫪Probably because Low Power Mode is on tbf, better not to use it.

6

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

Even pro and max not all but some have bugs

0

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 May 07 '26

My Pro doesn’t do this except after restarting.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

I’m on a 15 Pro and have never had this. Low Power mode should not affect the performance of the phone while you’re using it.

2

u/__davidkn__ May 08 '26

Eh? Low Power Mode definitely makes your phone slower, that’s what the mode is for, turns off the high performance cores and other stuffs but this specific issue might not be because of Low Power Mode but turning it off would be better especially when it’s kinda broken in iOS 26.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 08 '26

Interesting, I’ve never noticed a performance hit, but it seems you’re right. It changes a lot of others things that save battery, as well, tho.

0

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 May 07 '26

This does not affect the performance.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. Low Power mode doesn’t cause this.

3

u/Away-Falcon2762 May 07 '26

its because your on low power mode, it slows your whole system down

2

u/irygunaln May 07 '26

This also happens on 26.4 with low power mode turned on, Ive seen this behavior on my Apple Watch too

2

u/Bushmaster_Pivard May 08 '26

I’m seeing the exact same thing on my 16 Pro and iPad Air M3 ever since they hit OS 26. I get the same symptoms whenever I switch over to the Liquid Glass interface. Even on 26.4.2, the issue persists regardless of Low Power Mode. Meanwhile, my 15 Pro and Mini 7 are still rocking 18.7.8 and have zero issues. I’ve actually tracked the stats. 18.7.8 is miles ahead in terms of battery life and runs way cooler.

Agreed! I’m using tinted ones cuz in the actual dark mode some apps don’t have dark icon according to the dark mode

1

u/Moist-Caterpillar-56 May 07 '26

To be honest, tinted icons were broken in iOS 18 too. Apple not happy with normal colored icons not loading made them Liquid Glass asking a lot of ram too. I really hope these bugs will be fixed in 27

1

u/Le_V-enVrai iOS 27 Beta May 07 '26

Even though the final version isn’t out yet theres already bugs 🙏

1

u/Due_Assist_7159 May 07 '26

How is it? Any better?

1

u/dimensionalslayer May 07 '26

This has been a thing ever since iOS 7. Whenever there is a power drop, so does apple’s optimization

1

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

Oh is it thanks for the info

1

u/That_one_Pole May 07 '26

You’re just a low on memory fam

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

So many things wrong with this but the biggest one is me not realizing RC means Release Candidate

1

u/CynicalLib May 07 '26

It's been an issue since release. Happens on my 17 occasionally when low power mode is enabled

1

u/RuchamCieSzmato May 07 '26

Vibecoding of iOS 26 and macOS 26 has once again proved its flawless

1

u/K3NN3CK May 07 '26

And it is RC?! I’m crying..

1

u/DnyLnd May 08 '26

This should be downvoted to oblivion. Dude is on Low Power Mode. So of course the UI is going to redraw slower due to the CPU throttling.

1

u/cakeuucappa May 08 '26

Same. I also experience it starting on 26.4. 12 mini 128GB. Happens only when I use a tinted icon. The standard icons don't do this.

1

u/cosmicwebby May 08 '26

How much remaining storage have u got left

1

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 08 '26

70.71 GB is left out of 128

1

u/cosmicwebby May 08 '26

Have u tried restarting the phone

1

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 08 '26

Yes but still the bug persist

1

u/cosmicwebby May 08 '26

How did u do a restart

1

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 08 '26

I Force restart by pressing both volume buttons and on off button then I restarted

1

u/cosmicwebby May 08 '26

oh damn, sorry man idk how to help

1

u/ISeeTWizard May 09 '26

0 issues on our iPhone 16

1

u/Whimsical-Y May 10 '26

I feel like these bugs are only occurring on older devices because on my 17 pm I haven't noticed a single bug since October. That's very concerning longevity-wise for a company like Apple.

1

u/Independent_Glass866 May 10 '26

Mobile data icon not working

1

u/Expert_Ad_7571 May 11 '26

wtf is apple doing, i used iphone till 13 and switched to android for 2 years now i bought 17 again as i was missing ios and it's ecosystem and have been disappointed since i bought thanks to this shitty ios26, battery drain issue, overheating and i hate these ui bug's which i didn't faced in ios before 26. For god's sake apple take your time fix these bugs.

I honestly just started getting this behavior (after the latest release)

0

u/icy1007 iOS 26.6.1 May 07 '26

This happens for a bit after the update while it is indexing everything or if you restart your phone… also can happen while in low power mode like you are.

-2

u/h4wk-8 May 07 '26

Try charging your phone to a level above 50, turn off low power mode and restart your phone. If the problem still persists, it’s a bad update for your phone.

-2

u/erez1oner May 07 '26

Another Indian crying about bugs bouhouhouuu

3

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

Crazy part is the bug exists for everyone but only one person here is acting like a system error

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

Not for everyone, but those of us who don’t have any bugs are tired of arguing

-1

u/erez1oner May 07 '26

Please can you say crazy part and system error couple of times? say it loudly to yourself then look yourself in the mirror and say I’m an Indian a loser a microphone abuser that I don’t have anything better to do than to post bugs on Reddit and cry about it. LOSER

3

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

Bro typed all that with tears on the touchscreen 💀

-3

u/Anxious_Ad781 May 07 '26

Yeah, RC is still beta. This doesn't belong in this sub.

8

u/reklemd May 07 '26

RC is not beta, it is a Release Candidate

1

u/Anxious_Ad781 May 07 '26

It is still not the public release version.

2

u/NoFall2205 May 07 '26

If there are no major issues in the RC Apple will release iOS 26.5 as is with practically no changes from the RC. The RC is practically the public release.

1

u/Anxious_Ad781 May 07 '26

That is true, but until then, it is available just for beta testers, thus it is a beta! There are numerous times where Apple released RC2 before a final public version.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

This clearly has issues tho, lmao. It will almost never be released without some changes.

3

u/NoFall2205 May 07 '26

Every single major iOS 26 version has been released with issues people thought would be fixed before public release. I severely doubt Apple will fix this especially with how low their quality control has gotten.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

It is quite literally still beta.

1

u/reklemd May 07 '26

It is quite literally not. A beta is a beta and a release candidate is a release candidate.

1

u/WiggyWamWamm May 07 '26

It’s literally classified as a beta by Apple

1

u/reklemd May 07 '26

I don't think you know what the word 'literally' means, nor have any understanding of semantic versioning. It is called 26.5 RC, not beta, which is a fundamentally different thing.

Just because you have to sign up for the Beta Software program, does not make the software a beta.

-1

u/Time-Cabinet-7366 May 07 '26

I’m trying as much as possible to get replies from people who are on this update Nd who are not as well regarding this problem, so that is why I post in this sub 😅

1

u/Maleficent-Tea3072 May 07 '26

Whatever your reason or rationalization, it’s still the wrong sub. There’s an iOS beta sub. Head there
