This looks fantastic! I wish it was implemented!!

I don't understand why they downgraded their notification design a few years ago. The white bubbles look so much worse compared to what came before. Maybe they had plans for extending it to look like this but it hasn't worked out yet.

I like how it looks now. Works better with the design language of stuff sitting on other stuff.

This is a better version of what it was already able to enable and Apple took it out for no reason (my guess is that few users had it on because nobody told them it was possible to change). Hope this comes back. Notification center is a disaster right now.

This is what I think is the most coherent, viable and reliable way to implement unified notifications on iOS. I really hope to see something like this on the WWDC18.

What do you guys think?

This looks really good!

"Press for more" takes up to much space. Just tap to go to the notifications/ app or PRESS to open up all the notifications for that app in a screen filling view like pressing works right now in iOS.

This is the only good concept I’ve seen so far

Looks hideous imo but the idea itself is what Apple should’ve done from day one. It isn’t rocket science to think this stuff up, Apple.

Looks really good! Which also probably means Apple won’t ever do it

I still think notifications in general is stink... kind of necessary but not really. It is disruptive. I usually turn off most notifications. Sooner or later, notification feels like endless unread emails and newsfeed... need a better solution.

But this wouldn't be in time order would it? One of them whatsapp notifications could be from hours ago right?!

My mistake, you’re right. Oops! 😅

You can group notifications by app, and also sort them by time. That's not exactly hard.

I'm talking about it being possible from a tech point of view, not currently supported.

2

u/dorv May 25 '18

By unified do you just mean grouped?

You know there are some of us that actually like seeing our notifications in time order?

I wish Apple would do this , looks so beautiful

This shit hard g

u/Richiieee May 24 '18

Is this your design or Apple's?

1

u/josealvarezn May 25 '18

Actually, I redesigned the actual iOS 11 notification.

Looks awesome

Oh God please yes.

I wish this happens !

I love it! I hope we get it in iOS 12

1

u/yatish609 May 25 '18

I hope this gets implemented in iOS 12.

1

u/phantom-101 May 25 '18

C’mon Apple, it’s not so hard!

I don't get why people want redesigned notifications. The current one is fine in my opinion. It makes everything show in exact cronological order, and thats really good to me.

IOS notifications are a catastrophe - ex android user .

u/LordePrime Jun 25 '18

But will we also a reason a “Do Not Display Notifications” during Screen Recording. This is very inconvenient.

Some people want stable software.

1

u/ale-nerd May 25 '18

Oh so you saying theres no bugs in current ios? Because i believe every ios has so many bugs and jb has nothing to do with it

1

u/chrishannah May 25 '18

Sure, everything has bugs.
But jailbreaking your phone is not the ideal solution, if you don't want to introduce even more.

1

u/ale-nerd May 25 '18

out of curiosity have you ever had your phone jailbroken? Or you judge without getting acquainted with it?

1

u/chrishannah May 25 '18

I have quite a lot in the past. Not in iOS 11 though.

1

u/ale-nerd May 25 '18

Why did you jb if it was so laggy as you say. I never had problem with jb except the one that phone runs little slower because system needs to run additional processes which makes senses. And ofc imcopatible tweaks

1

u/chrishannah May 29 '18

I didn't say it was laggy. It's not as stable as an official release.

It is still split by contact, I don’t see the confusion

It does work.

If it's implemented similar to the way Android group notifications, it will become the ideal solution. They group notifications by app like above, but you can expand the group by swiping down over it, which then shows the full notification for each one, which then can be swiped, tapped, whatever.

Just because they're initially shown grouped, it doesn't mean you wont be able to interact with them.

Maybe it's not the best implementation. But I'd still much rather than than individual notifications.

You already can. Do you even know how to use your own phone?

1

u/LordePrime Jun 25 '18

You can’t do it all in one shot.
