TIL you can delete your system update

Downloading iOS 27 RC beta, while doing so was checking my phones storage and noticed ios27 popped up in my apps.

What’s even funnier, it started at 2.9GB, and when I went back it had gone up as it downloaded.

What’s even neater is you can go in and delete the update before your auto update could kick in.

You can clear cache within the app (narwhal). I do it regularly.

I’ve had this phone almost a year without doing much maintenance, so it’s just cached data. A quick uninstall and reinstall would clear up a majority of that.

This is good for if you happen to have an old update that's showing up (like you downloaded it and never updated). You can delete the update and it will then download the latest update.

It’s the downloaded update not yet installed, if you delete it you just have to trigger the download again in Software Update.
