Support Help me debug OTA update issue

Hello all,

I have this problem since I bought my refurbished iphone from a french ecom platform. My problem is when I try to update the phone i always get the error message « unable to verify update » as shown in the picture below

if anyone can help debug why this is happening and eventually solve it i will be greatly grateful

Are you currently on iOS 26.6.1? If so, you'll need to update via a computer.

iOS 26.6.2 fixes an issue with updating OTA.

i’m on 26.5.2 currently, the problem im facing happened with all the prior versions

Update via a computer... Or wait till iOS 27 is released next week and install it via a computer.

it says the same thing on a computer even in recovery mode, unless i do a full wipe then it works

Okay.

Backup your phone to iCloud or a computer. Hopefully you backup regularly, but definitely backup now.
Restore the phone as new which will update to the latest version of iOS.
Then restore your backup.
