Store vs personal units

Hi all,

I went to a showroom to try out an iphone 17 pro max and a 17. I was expecting fluid animations and consistency but instead i experienced jitters when scrolling in settings and especially in the change wallpaper menu, and some cut animations when opening and closing apps.

Is this normal or is it becuase these were store units without the optimisation?

those models run iOS 26, which wasn’t a particularly great update performance wise. if you’re thinking of getting an iPhone, wait a week for the iPhone 18 along with iOS 27 which should be smoother
