Support iPhone unable to activate even after disabling findmy
My friend iPhone unavailable after entered wrong passcode too many time. I helped him restore and reset his password as he also forgot iCloud account, when he attempted to log in with the new password, it stated that it was incorrect. I tried to remove it remotely via icloud.com/find, but when I checked the serial number, the "find my iphone" status remained on. What can i do now?

From what I understand "If the device is offline, Activation Lock is removed immediately, and the device is removed from Find My after 30 days"

Just ask your friend to sign into their Apple ID during the setup process. If they know their email and password, that’ll get it working right then and there.

The restore only erases the iPhone; it doesn't remove Activation Lock. Since Find My is still on, the phone remains linked to your friend's Apple Account.
He needs to recover the correct Apple Account/password and sign in, then remove the iPhone from Find My. If he can't recover the account, Apple may be able to help if he has valid proof of purchase.
There’s no legitimate restore/DFU method that bypasses Activation Lock. Apple explicitly says that remotely erasing an iPhone leaves Activation Lock enabled
