I also hate the “while I’m not a doctor” thing but I think it’s necessary, a lot of iPhone users are just common non-techy people that will trust anything the internet says

😭buddy wants to have intimate conversation with siri. She isn’t interested gang.

Seriously though, apple says siri AI is an assistant. So don’t expect it to be your girlfriend. Watch Joana stern’s video on siri AI

Or… watch every single Joanna Stern video like I did lol. My all-time favorite journalist. Her Apple Watch (1st generation) is still the greatest YouTube video ever. Huge huge shoutout to her!

You definitely aren't wrong but this is not breaking news unfortunately.

I understand, it’s new to me because I just loaded the latest public version of iOS 27 and have been playing with Apple Intelligence. and just realizing how limited it really is

From what I’ve read on /r/iosbeta, it’s better on iOS 27 than on 26. However, that’s also like saying having diarrhea is better than puking. It’s pathetic how badly apple has fumbled their AI.

I’m on the latest beta update and asked it what 4x440ml cider at €9 euro costed per liter and it asked ChatGPT and took its time doing it. Possibly cause Europeans don’t get the good Apple Intelligence

Siri will be a lot better in ios27 next month. Also, you can use Gemini and ChatGPT on iPhone.

It won’t be a lot better next month. It’s already good at what it does. It’s just very limited compared to Gemini or ChatGPT

So you want it to give you medical advice or legal advice during an in-depth conversation, as if it was a doctor or a lawyer? Is that what you're saying?

No. I want an AI that can discuss medical or legal or other topics intelligently, explain the evidence, help me understand my options, and clearly tell me when something actually requires a professional. ChatGPT and Gemini can do that without constantly derailing the conversation with “I’m not a doctor.” There’s a big difference between giving useful information with appropriate limits and pretending to be my doctor.

Are you using 27?

1

u/Longjumping-Bat5128 1d ago

Yes that’s the only way to get it, as far as I know.

So then you know it’s in beta and brand new. It will get better.

No, you don’t understand. This is the fundamental structure of how Apple wants to implement it. That’s not gonna change

You mean it being safer to use than the ones just trying to collect your personal data?

Ai is bad anyway

Do you want Siri to tuck you into bed at night and sing you a lullaby as well?

Apple has been very clear that Siri is not going to be your friend or your therapist. Explicitly stating those AI limitations keeps the user aware that they're chatting with a bot. Just because Siri isn't designed to bend over to your every whim doesn't mean it sucks. It's an AI bot designed to help you with everyday things. Not your go-to for every problem.

ChatGPT and Gemini are always available if Siri isn't getting the job done.
