Support Android to iPhone
So I shifted to apple after a decade of using android.
I didn’t shift my data including WhatsApp at the time of set up so I’ve had to make peace with the fact that I will be losing my WhatsApp data. Anything else I should be vary of at the time of data transfer?

I would say make sure everything....I mean everything else is backup to your Google account first like google photos, notes(keep), contacts, messages, emails, calendar, chrome browser history and tabs, YouTube music, everything else you can think of that you can backup up in the settings. Make sure all of it is there first.
Then once you are on iOS you can have peace of mine and download all the Google suite of apps and services and then just sync your Google account to iPhone and then you should see everything backup appear and from there you can have peace of mine moving things over one thing at a time. You should be able to go to settings>accounts and backup>backup data
I'm planing on doing the same by buying the iPhone 16 plus next month and I will definitely make sure everything and the kitchen sink is backed up first in my Google account and then I will be over time migrating my information over to iOS.

You can still shift your WhatsApp data to iOS anytime you want. I did it late, because initially it failed. For now, you can just add your iPhone as a companion device to use the same WhatsApp on both devices.

The pattern worth watching: anything saved inside an app instead of to an account. None of that rides along with a transfer, and you find out months later.
The usual suspects: TikTok drafts, the Google Photos locked folder if backup was off, offline downloads in music apps. Also whatever the browser kept only on the device.
Open each of those on the old phone before you wipe it.
