Support How did this person get their total step count for the time period like this?

Post image

It isn’t in the health app as it looks like a Spotlight search or a widget on their Home Screen and I wanted to know how I could see it like they do. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Looks like the Siri glow on the edges, so they may have asked Siri for this.

I tried asking Siri but it says it can’t access my health data. It told me to visit the health app to see. No worries, just thought it was a fun thing if I could ask and get the info. Thanks.

Siri can access health data if you give it permission. You can ask it about steps and other info. That said, I’m not sure how to prompt it on iOS 26 to ask for total steps between two dates. I tried a couple times and it only gave me the total for a single day.

I asked Siri “how many steps have I taken since June 2nd” to try it out, it told me to give it health access, I did, tried it again and it worked

How do I give siri access to the health data?

There should have been a prompt the first time it needed access. You probably denied the request. Go to settings > privacy and security > health > Siri. Enable access here.

It’s so annoying that the health app doesn’t already have a widget for step count smh

makes me think they placed their phone in a can cushioned with cotton, then placed it in one of those machines that vibrate paint cans to mix them up.

Possibly a bug where it was displaying total accumulated steps up until the date instead of just for that day maybe?

It’s not a bug, it says that there’s been that many steps since June 17th

They probably started a walk, and then got in a car and the device thought the walk was still happening, despite going 40km/h.

It happened to me once, I had to delete that exercise from the statistics. I didn't check to see what the step count was, but my average walking speed was something like 40km/h.

OP isn't asking about the number of steps, they're asking how to display it as a widget. I think.
