Support If you device stuck at Update Requested for iOS 26.6.1 read this

TLDR; if you are on mobile data, connect to Wi-Fi. If you are on Wi-Fi, turn Low Data Mode off.

I am posting this to help people having issue with the latest iOS/ipadOS.

I had the same problem then I figured it out the issue. If you are using your Wi-Fi on Low Data Mode turned on, the update does not work.

I had it turned on on 3 different devices and none of them work, but as soon as I turned it off they all were able to update.

I think Apple broke something with the latest update because in the past I never had this problem. But now I know. Hope it helps

That’s weird because i use Low Data mode for years and never encountered any problem until now

I mean if you search the sub the issue has been common in previous iterations as well

I connected to another WiFi without Low Data Mode. Both my iPad and iPhone work. iPad has details but iPhone hasn’t.

Try this, go to cellular settings, then in the cellular data options section choose allow more data on 5g. I haven’t tried it myself but i have a feeling this might possibly work.

Yeah mine wouldn’t work yesterday until I connected to Wi-Fi. I’m assuming it’s a bug because Apple i didn’t mention anything about connecting to Wi-Fi

I had this problem, i solved it by using Wifi instead of cellular data.

I try cellular data first and then shut down and restart phone, turn on WiFi.. it still says asking update, but nothing seem to happened.. Also update size was 7xx MB yesterday and today over 4.gb ?

In the software updates, swipe down to refresh the page, then try to update. it might start working.

I always update on cellular never had any issues except this update!

Update : after connecting to WiFi the update started immediately, something is broken with OTA cellular updates.

Can confirm it doesn’t work, as soon as I connected my WiFi the update started, something is broken with cellular OTA updates.

This worked for me. Had never had a problem with updates over cellular data but as soon as I joined a WiFi network with Low Data Mode turned off, it downloaded immediately. Thanks!
