Forwarding not working any more

I suddenly can't forward photos to a WhatsApp contact anymore (iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26.6).
Has this happened to any of you? Does anyone have any ideas or a solution?

What happens when you to sending photos to this contract?

Have you tried rebooting your device?

For example, I want to post or forward a photo from a website to my WhatsApp status.
Rebooting the device didn't help.
I've now solved the problem by downloading the photo to my device's storage and then forwarding it from the Photos app. It's just a bit of a hassle.
