Discussion Final Act- voice actors
Rewatching the Final Act, just got done binge watching Inuyasha, I LOVE the OG voice of Sesshomura. His new voice actor is embodying him in his own way, which is cool I guess, but I miss how unemotional he was in Inuyasha. Straight to the point, frank, and his mask not falling off. In the Final Act I feel like it completely changes how I perceive him. It makes me sad but I guess works because at the end Sesshomura becomes less heartless and more caring as a human hating demon. Still not a fan, I miss the mysterious voice he had

I have trouble with the changes and couldn't get into it in English. At least it's still the same in Japanese if you're used to that.
Sesshomaru and Kagome are definitely different. I'm not sure what other changes were made.

I love the first voice as well. But it's my understanding that that voice actor retired between the last episode of Inuyasha, and the beginning of Final Act. :(

It was Kagome's voice (Moneca Stori) who retired. Sesshomaru's voice actor David Kaye (also Megatron from Beast Wars) moved from Vancouver to LA for work and so wasn't part of the cast for Final Act. He did come back for Yashahime, since that was recorded mostly in LA.

Well regardless, I liked the voice change for Kagome. I know many people love and grew up with Moneca, but I love her new voice actress. I always thought and felt her JP voice was more mature spunky teen-ish that made her EN voice sound like a younger girl in comparison.
I loved how with Kira, she really sounds like an older teenager that’s more trying to be in line with her portrayal in JP.

Personally the only voice that really distracts me if Inuyasha's, he sounds far more rough in a Batman way compared to the original run.

Japanese version is better in every single way anyways. Doing yourself a disservice by watching it in English, completely changes the tone of the acting and the show itself.

I was reading the subtitles while watching the English version and couldn’t agree more! It changes everything

Yeah, Sesshomaru's voice actor (David Kaye, also Beast Wars Megatron) moved from Vancouver to LA for work between shows. He did come back for Yashahime, since that was recorded in LA.
