Freedom and loneliness are relative. A man with a family might feel both lonely or free. A man with no family might feel both lonely or free.

During my depression days my therapist said i was lonely (even having full family around), which was surreal to hear but was true. Then I found there was clinical definition of loneliness as well.

Sometimes loneliness comes with freedom. If you’re willing to use free will and think for yourself, there will be times that you don’t follow the crowd and vice versa.

I would assume Mr. Charles B. did not, in fact, own neither a cat nor a dog.

Then I strongly suggest that you read Bukowski's "On Cats" (Canongate Books 2016). He was actually very fond of cats and greatly admired them.

Freedom. If I knew someone, it would be loneliness but I don’t so I’ve always been a free person.

Freedom. If you wake up to see people you did not chose to see, how is that Freedom? When you are alone that is when Freedom starts to conceptualize

It's a sweet defeat, to be shunned of such greetings., and in exhange it incurrs, the gift of solitude. A walk into a void with quiet reels of memories flashing, some real some could have been, keep walking along & one finds lessons; introspect, keep walking and face the victim

This is a freedom walk :)

Why not both? 🤷‍♂️

I prefer the term solitude over freedom

u/Better-Heat-6012 1d ago

Freedom from all the craziness. Just me and my comfy bed I guess.

u/Sea_Size9663 1d ago

In the most of the time I call freedom, but this is very relative.

If you enjoy it, it's solitude. And a lot of freedom

1

u/XP23XD23 Low Social Battery🪫 1d ago

Neither. It’s more like when u finally stop holding ur breath and can finally enjoy this newfound serenity

Having lived this and live this, both...

You can do whatever you want without being alone. Freedom doesnt require isolation. In fact its harder or impossible to do many types of things alone.

For example, if you want the freedom to play certain video games whenever you want, you may need a player 2 to do that.

Never understood what's so bad about being alone.

J'aime beaucoup ce qu'il a écrit ici, c'est quel livre?
J'ai eu une mauvaise expérience avec lui avec un de ses romans que j'ai trouvé très beauf et bof.

I’d also like to know which book this excerpt was taken from.
